Chapter 3

Selene's POV

An Angel.

A beautiful Angel with flowing blond hair and grey irises. She was wearing an sleeveless white dress and brown sandals.

"Hello," she said. "My name is Alexandra. I am here to warn you and to guide you."

"Warn us about what?" Bree asked her.

"Warn you about the demons. The worst demons from hell have been released into the mortal world. They are the ones who froze time and only you two can stop them." Alexandra answered.

"Um, how are we supposed to do that?" I asked the Angel.

"Ah, am I correct in assuming that you two do not yet know about your gifts?"

"What gifts?" Bree said.

"You, Bree, are capable of powerful black magic. You can also turn into a black wolf. Go on, think hard. You can do it."

Bree sat there, concentrating for at least five minutes until she wasn't there anymore. In her place, was a black wolf with purple eyes.

"Very good. Now if you don't mind, could you turn back now?" Alexandra asked.

Bree began to transform back into her usual self but kept the tail.

"Cool!" she said. "I got a tail."

"You will also need this." Alexandra said pulling a double sided axe made of obsidian from thin air.

Bree thanked her and bowed. Then the Angel turned to me. "You, Selene, are capable of controlling nature and the earth. Like Bree, you can also turn into an animal. Your animal, however, is a great horned owl. Now you try your animal transformation."

I closed my eyes and concentrated hard. I pictured myself shrinking and growing feathers. I opened my eyes and looked into a nearby puddle. I was a great horned owl with bright orange eyes. I hooted in delight and then transformed back into a person.

"Great job. You each have a source for your magic powers. Bree's is her tail. Your's is a rose tattoo on your back. Other people won't be able to see these things. Oh, I almost forgot," Alexandra produced a golden sword with an emerald incrusted hilt.

"It's beautiful." I say, bowing to thank her.

"The Demons' headquarters are at the top of Mount Major in Alton Bay," the Angel told us. "You must go there and destroy the source of their power: the orb of Time."

A golden sphere suspended its self inbetween us and Alexandra.

"Once this orb is destroyed, time will return to normal."

"So my family will unfreeze?" I ask quizzically.

Alexandra raised an eyebrow. "I suppose I should put it as you teenagers would say. 'Well, duh!' Now you should get going. I shall provide you with food, clothing, and a map for your journey." she waved her hand again and two hiking packs appeared on the ground in front of us. "I shall entrust Bree with the map." I personally thought that was a very bad idea because she tends to get distracted and lose things REALLY easily. But I didn't object. "I must go now. Good luck my heroes and may the Angels guide you." Alexandra said as she disappeared into a flash of golden.

Bree turned to me and said "So what do we do now?"

I thought the answer was pretty obvious. "Well, we go fight demons."
