Nolan continued to drink his tea as he thought about the encounter he had just had with his brother a few minutes ago. he glanced up at the clock to check on the time and saw that it was around 4:30. He ran a hand through his hair and got up from the kitchen's island. Nolan made his way over to the doorway, more specifically the coat wrack. he grabbed his warm fleece coat and slipped it over his arms. he grabbed a hat and put it on his head and then slipped a pair of boots over his two feet.
He opened the door and felt a cold wind rush over him. Nolan smiled and enjoyed the feeling of the cold, he had always preferred the cold or the hot heat in the summer. He took a step outside and walked down the small staircase that leads up to their porch. Nolan slipped both of his hands into the pockets of his coat. He took a deep breath and watched as the hot air he blew out making a small cloud. He walked down the walkway and onto the sidewalk. to their side yard.
Nolan continued to walk and soon reached a small wooden swing hung on a large oak tree. He smiled and sat down on it. When he was younger he used to bring piles of books out to the tree and set them down on one of the roots. He would then read for hours and hours on end. He missed those days where he didn't even have a care in the world and he could do whatever he wanted to.
Nolan began to kick his legs back and forth on the swing, sending him back and forth. He felt the wind rushing around him and he smiled. He always loves the feeling of the wind blowing against him. Nolan hummed softly as he went back and forth on the swing.
Gabe had fallen back to sleep in his old bedroom but had woken up at the sound of someone laughing outside. He got up and rubbed one of his eyes with his hand and made his way to his window. he looked out and squinted and was able to make out his brothers figure. He smiled softly at the sight of his brother enjoying himself. he rolled his eyes and scoffed, a smile still resting on his face.
"What an idiot," he said quietly as he tore his gaze away from the window and to the alarm clock that read 6:00 on the dot. He sighed and walked over to his closet to get changed.
Nolan saw the sun rising and decided it was time to go inside and prepare himself for another day of school. He had already had some tea and wasn't that hungry so he decided to skip having breakfast. he walked up to his bedroom and grabbed some clothing off of his clean laundry pile to wear to school. He ran a hand through his hair and changed quickly. He quickly moved along in his morning routine and soon it was almost 8:00. He grabbed his bag and sling it over his shoulder.
He walked down the stairs and passed his family that was seated at the kitchen island. He said his goodbyes and made his way outside of his home and towards his school, not prepared in the slightest for what was about to come.
Nolan walked down the street and decided to take a detour through the park. as he walked he looked at all of the children playing on the p[playground and running around happily with each other. he walked over to the swing set and sat down on one of the swings. as he rocked back and forth, silently scrolling though his phone his noticed that the time on his phone read around 8:20 and that he needed to get to school.
he got off of the swing set and hiked his bag further up[ on his shoulders and walked past all of the children and back onto the side street that lead to his school. Nolan continued to walk to school silently as he observed all of the trees and houses around him. Nolan's friends had described him as the kind of person to stop and smell the roses, and that was definitely something that was true about him. Nolan preferred to look around and let everything sink in slowly rather than speeding by everything. that was one of the main differences between Gabe and Nolan.
Nolan sighed and was his school coming up ahead. he smiled when he saw his two friends outside of the school talking. He continued to walk down the street towards them, and towards his school. He saw Finley wave at him and with a smile he sent a small wave back.
