Chapter 2

I'm still not sure what cover i want, i've been experimenting with a few things so if the cover changes, don't freak out, it's me trying to figure out what i like!

The idea of the whole camp was to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco. We would stop by a few times to sleep and surf of course.

'I have cheese or ham' Maddie said as she opened her bag. Her mom made sandwiches for me and her.
'Give me the cheese one' I said, quickly glancing through the gap of the seats in front of us. Daniel and Jack were just talking. I took a bite out of my sandwich and looked outside.
'Are you guys from here?' I said with my mouth full of bread. Daniel snapped his head and let out a laugh.
'No i'm from Portland Oregon' He smiled. Jack also turned around and I didn't know how fast I needed to make my mouth empty.
'I'm from Pennsylvania, and you guys?' He looked at Maddie who immediately froze in her seat. I giggled and laid my hand on her knee to comfort her.
'We're from Venice, we practically live on the beach' I shrugged.
'Well we both live in LA now' Daniel added. I frowned.
'Together?' I said slowly. Maddie chocked in her bread, making her cough real loud.
'Omg Mads is there one thing on this world you can do without dying!' I shouted through the bus, making people look at us. Maddie swallowed as she let herself fall into her seat.
'You guys aren't gay right, not that I have anything against it, just curious!' she breathed out. Jack and Daniel quickly exchanged lookes and began to laugh.
'No we aren't why?' Daniel said, faking he was whiping a tear away.
'Well, you both lived apart from each other, maybe love made you guys come together' I added playfully as Maddie nodded.
'No, an other thing has made us come together' Jack smiled enthusiastic. Daniel's face turned into a frown and I didn't know if I saw that right, but he poked Jack softly into his side. Jack immediately shut up.
'But we'll talk about that another time' Jack winked at me. My mind went blank for a second till it started to work again. For god sake, it was a nice dude to look at, you can't hear me complaining him sitting in front of me!

'Ladies and gentlemen, within a good 10 minutes we arrive at out first pitstop. We switch per stop from hotel to tents, or sometimes little houses. It depends on what the weather is planning. So for this stop we have a small house with 5 rooms. Make pairs of four please and girls with girls and boys with boys please!' The guide yelled through the bus. The guide was my nephew Andrew. He is the silliest but most talented surfer I know. After my dad, his uncle, left, he taught me everything he knew about the sport. And i've always stayed his little Dawn.

We got out of the bus, everyone grabbing their suitcases to go into the tiny white house that was standing just behind a dune.
'So Dawn, again!' He laughed as he patted my shoulder. Me and Maddie were still not paired up and I saw Jack and Daniel walking around to find two guys.
'Every time A!' I laughed, patting him back. He winked and signed to the two boys who looked they were lost.
'I see everyone is already paired up, except for those two losers. It's okay if you guys form a foursome?' He whispered to me and Maddie. Maddie quickly smiled and nodded to Andrew.
'Jack come here!' Andrew shouted through the people. I frowned and tugged on my cousins shirt.
'Do you know them?' I whispered as I saw Jack and Daniel coming over.
'I know his sister' He whispered back and stepped forward.
'Jack, Dawn, Dawn, Jack!' He happily said as he introduced me to him.
'A, we already met in the bus' I giggled. Jack smiled nervously to my cousin who kept on introducing us.
'This is Maddie, but you can call her Mads!' He laughed.
'Hey i'm the only one who calls her that!' I screamed to Andrew. I dropped my bags and began to chase him to the dune. My and my cousin are just 5 years apart, he's 22. What means I see him more as a brother.

I knew Maddie was now alone with them, but someday she needed to be social! As me and Andrew returned, Maddie was talking like she never talked before. And I did saw the way Daniel looked at her. Jack was only paying attention to his backpack. I swung an arm around him and scared myself from my sudden confidence.
'So you know my cousin A?' I smiled. Our faces were dangerously close and I could smell his strong scent of men deodorant.
'Well my sister knows him, because he dated her' He smiled. I gasped.
'Sydnie is your sister!' I screamed. He flinched at my harsh tone and laughed.
'Omg I loved her!' I giggled. Jack laughed and Andrew came standing with us.
'What's up with Maddeline?' He scoffed.
'Have you seen Daniel?' I asked him playfully.
'He's fine as hell' Andrew laughed.
'I rest my case' I laughed back.
'Why did you never introduced Syds little brother to me?' I said, also swinging an arm over his shoulder. Andrew rubbed his chin and frowned.
'Me and Sydnie didn't last long, there wasn't any need to introduce you two' He said, now calming down more. I nodded and looked at Daniel and Maddie. There were having the time of their lives.
'Guess I lost my partner in crime for these next few weeks' I whined. Jack looked down at me and grabbed my waist to hug my side.
'Guess you just found a new one!'
'Cheesy' I rolled my eyes. Jack laughed and pressed me closer to him.
'Guess you have no choice' He whispered.
'I have Andrew' I scoffed. With the hand he wasn't holding me, he pointed to Andrew, who was flirting with the older girls of this trip. I can't lie, Andrew looks like a absolute god with his tanned abs and almost white beach curls. So I planted my head in my hands and breathed out.
'It really seems like i'm stuck with you huh?' I smiled with rolling my eyes.
'Stop rolling your eyes, it makes it hard for me to look at them!' Jack giggled.
'Stop being cheesy, it isn't working on me' I smacked his shoulder.
'Your cheeks tell me different!' He playful smiled. I gasped and felt my cheeks burning hot.
'You're not even my type!' I yelled at Jack as i walked to Maddie who just finished her lifelong convo with Daniel and was now grabbed her suitcase from the bus.
'I BEG TO DIFFER!' he shouted after me.

'Daniel is amazing Dawn, he's the cutest guy i've ever met!' she squealed.
'Oh and of course you have met so many guys, so you know that!' i sarcastically answered her.
'Oh just because you always have your mouth with you doesn't mean you can ruin my day!' she said through her teeth.
'Well, mine is already ruined by noodle head over there' i pointed to Jack, who immediately caught me pointing at him and waved smallish.
'You totally gonna smash him' Maddie said serious as she handed me my suitcase.
'Yeah, i'm going to smash his face, into thousands pieces!' i laughed. Maddie looked at me with a look she always made when se knew i was lying.
'Stop making that face Maddeline!' i grinned.
'Dawn, your cheeks are burning red' she said, wiggling her brows.
'For god sake!' i screamed and we both laughed.
