Distance Between Us

Chapter 1

Nandito ako ngayon sa harap ng dagat. It's been a while since I went to a place like this. We don't usually go to these kind of places so it feels kinda new to me.

Wala si Jan ngayon. He was called by his secretary. And yes, Jan is a damn good young handsome CEO. He's only 18 years old.

My phone suddenly rang. I looked at the caller. It's Mom.

I thought she's worried about me not in the house, but I was wrong. She's asking me why I'm not attending the shooting.

"Mom, I'm having a vacation right now. Please let me rest."- I said with a tired tone. Mom's really mad and I'm sure ipapahanap nya ako.

"No, Allyana. And why are you resting kung sa buong week ay nandito ka lang sa bahay? Who are you fooling?"- I can feel she's gritting her teeth right now.

I haven't done this to her, but now I have the guts to do this. Don't know where I got the guts though. I ended the call inappropriately.

Nagsimulang nanamang  nag-uunahan ang mga luha ko. I wiped it out and ran as fast as I can through my room. Di ko alam king pano ko nalagpasan to noon. It's been hard to me to decide when my mother's been a boundary between me and my future.

Humiga ako sa kama and let my tears fall para maubos na. It's already 9:32 in the morning. Kanina pa nakaalis si Jan and he just texted me. Pinahatid nya rin yung breakfast ko dito sa room, mga 8:46am.

I reached for my phone and decided to text my personal bodyguard slash personal assistant.

To Jonas:

Hey, can you please ready a chopper for me? We're going to Bukidnon. I'll be there in 20 minutes.

From Jonas:

Yes, ma'am. Right away.

Nagtungo na ako sa cabinet where I put my gadgets and clothes. Binalik ko yun sa luggage and texted Jan na aalis na ako.

Sa Bukidnon ihohold yung first shooting ko. I need to go or magwawild nanaman si mommy. I have to give it a go, maybe I'll have interest about it.

Lumabas na ako and I saw the chopper. As I step forward, naramdaman kong nagvibrate ang phone ko. It's Jan.

To Jan:

You okay? I can fetch you there. Can you wait? I'll be there in 10 minutes.

Kailangan kong mag explain sa kanya bakit, so I waited for him.

"Hey, where are you going? Di mo ba nagustuhan? I can find another place."- I know na hindi nya ko gustong umalis because alam nyang mapapahamak ako pag mag isa lang ako.

"No, it's okay. Thank you and sorry for disturbing you."- sabi ko sabay smile at him. An assuring smile.

He just stared at me for a few seconds and hugged me.

"I'm gonna let you go this time, okay? Be careful. Feel free to call if there's a problem. Take care, baby."- he whispered and let go the hug.

Dumiretso na ako sa chopper and waved goodbye at him. I heard him shouted something pero di ko narinig masyado.

Umupo ako ng maayos at pumikit ng mariin. I'm too tired to smile or laugh right now. I never expected na lalaki ang problema ko ngayon. It's just that.. It's new to me.

Naramdaman kong tumapak na ang chopper kaya binuksan ko na ang mga mata ko. The place seems like nice. I can feel that I can be comfortable here, except for the shooting. Konting tiis Allyana, at magiging malaya ka na.

Lumabas na ako sa chopper at nag heavy sigh. Here will it all starts. Magugustuhan mo rin ito, Ally.  Just trust yourself!

"Tell mom na nandito na ako. Tell her that I need the details."- sabi ko without looking at Jonas.

"Yes, ma'am. Nandito na po yung details. Binigay niya po noong Saturday."- ani Jonas sabay abot sakin ng clipboard.

I just gave him a small smile and starting walking towards inside the hotel. Now I know why mom wants me to join this. I think I changed my mind.
