'Do you have your passport?'

'Do you have your visa?'

'Do you have your ticket?'

Mom was asking me a lot of questions and that only added to the stress of leaving. I was pushing the trolley with all my 3 suitcases on, and I was starting to lose my patience with her.

The airport was crowded and it didn't really help that my mom was bothering me with all these questions. My head was already throbbing enough.

'Mom, for the last time! I've checked it several times already! Please!' I groaned.

'Sayang, I just want everything to be okay for you. I don't want you to go to that plane and realize you forget something!'

I gave her a questioning look, 'mom, they won't let me in if I forgot those things anyway,' I said.

She rolled her eyes at my smart-ass comebacks. 'Can you please just let me be a nagging mother to you for the last time?' she asked. I finally stopped and sighed, 'you're right. I will really miss that though,' I said.

She smiled at me and gave me a huge hug, 'I'm going to miss you so much! I can't believe you're leaving! It's going to be so quiet at home!' she pouted. I giggled and kissed her cheek, 'Mom, we can always skype or call,' I suggested.

'I know, but it won't be the same because I wouldn't be able to smother you with my kisses,' she said.

I just gave her a smile.

After we checked in, we decided to stop by at a café as we wait for the boarding announcement. I sighed cause I wasn't excited about this. Sure, everyone would pay a leg or a kidney just to have a chance in Paris, but I didn't feel the same. I wanted to stay home.

Plus, I wasn't really looking forward to staying with Aidan.

Spawn of Satan Aidan.

I rolled my eyes as I thought of the boy I grew up with and just wanted to punch his smug face.

'Did Laura give Aidan's phone number to you?' Mom asked.

'Yes, she did,' I replied as I took a sip of my chamomile tea. Chamomile could always calm my nerves especially when I feel like my stomach was melting into wrecks inside me right now.

'Did you text him that you're flying off today?'

'Yep, I did.' I rolled my eyes again as I looked through my "conversation" with Aidan last night.

'Hey Aidan. It's Corinne here! I just want to tell you that I'm flying off tomorrow and will be so excited to see you and our new place together! If you can, can you please pick me up at the airport? J'

I took time in composing my text to him. I was thinking that a bubbly approachable text would indicate that whatever happened to us in the past, stays in the past, and I had no grudges or whatsoever to him.

If I want to make the next year bearable, then we both need to get over whatever happened in the past.

'k'

Son of a bitch.

I wanted to throw my phone against the wall, but I have to remember that it wasn't my phone's fault that Aidan was a dickhead.

I didn't tell this to mom, because I didn't want her to complain to Laura about her son's attitude. For all I know, it's just who he is. A self-absorbed dickhead.

Like people say, a leopard can't change its spots. Once a dickhead, always a dickhead. Typical freaking Aidan.

Plus I don't wanna be a snitch. I knew that if I complained I wouldn't hear the end of it from Aidan.
