Xander and I have known each other for quite a while now. 4 whole years. We even moved in together since we both lived alone anyways. It was nice having him around. But today is different.Xander blocked the doorway, tears in his eyes. "Please! Just stay here!" I shook my head. I felt bad, but what was I supposed to do? I was accepted into a college that Xander has known I've wanted to go to, but now he doesn't want me to leave.
"Xander, I can always come visit you. Besides, you know I've wanted to go to this college since forever ago." He simply shook his head, the tears in his eyes over flowing.
"No! I don't want you to leave! You'll end up with a new friend! You'll forget about me!"
I stood in front of him and cupped his cheeks in my hands. "Xander. I won't forget about you. I'll call you everyday and visit whenever I can. Trust me. I can't replace you anyways." I gave him a sad smile. I really didn't want to leave him. It felt so weird. But it'll be fine.
Xander wrapped his arms around me, my shoulder soon soaking from his tears. I didn't mind. I simply rubbed his back until he stopped crying.
"I promise you, I'll visit you this weekend. Okay?" I moved away from him to look him in the eyes. He gave a faint nod before hugging me again and letting me go.

I've been visiting Xander every chance I get and calling him every day, just like I promised. I made a few friends here at college, but I don't mention them much since I don't want Xander to feel neglected. When I'm with him, it's only about the two of us.
"How are your grades by the way?" Xander tilted his head at me. He was always worried about how my grades we're holding up. Of course I was passing, though I appreciated his concern.
"Hey Y/N!" I turned my head slightly, seeing a buddy from college walking down the sidewalk next to the park me and Xander were at. He walked over to the tree we sat under and waved at us, eyeing Xander.
"Oh, hi Chandler." I smiled at him and waved. Xander glanced at him, and then me, then back at Chandler. "You a friend of Y/N's?"
"Yeah. He's pretty cool." He gave a sweet smile. I felt sort of awkward, knowing that Xander was hoping for us to spend time alone since we don't see each other all the time.
"Hey, why don't you two hang out for a bit while I go to the bathroom?" I stood up, not actually expecting a response. There was a small building with bathrooms inside. Thankfully they were well managed and clean, or at least as clean as a public restroom gets. I kinda just wanted to get away from the awkward tension. Maybe now that I'm gone, they can get to know each other?
◈Xander's POV◈
I watched Y/N walk away and then glanced over at that Chandler guy. He kept the same smile on his face. Gross.
"What do you guys do together?"
He looked at me weirdly. "Huh? What do you mean?"
"What do you guys do for fun?"
He rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. "Sometimes we stay in one of our dorms and watch movies all night on my laptop. Or we just go to a café or something and just hang out with a few other friends. Pretty much everyone that knows him has gotten really close to him. I can't think of a single person that doesn't like him. Well, other that Jacob."
My face grew more and more red as Chandler went on about all the new relationships Y/N made with people until he mentioned some guy who actually doesn't like him. How could someone not like Y/N?
"Who is Jacob?"
"Some dude that Y/N ended up sharing a dorm with. He's a jerk. He's always picking on Y/N for no reason, making fun of him for being sort of feminine. Since they share a dorm, he usually comes over to my dorm to avoid Jacob."
So I have to deal with people getting too close to Y/N, and also some asshole who is mean to him. Why doesn't he tell me about this stuff?
I decided Jacob didn't matter right now. At the moment, I was mad at Chandler. Y/N promised that I wouldn't be replaced, but I feel like this guy might try to take my place as Y/N's best friend.
"Well listen here, ever since I met Y/N, I felt happy. We've been friends now, and even roommates, for 4 years, so don't get it in your head that I'm going anywhere. He's my friend. I care about him. He cares about me. I know he cares for me more than you, or anyone else. He barely knows you."
I stopped talking as I noticed Y/N approaching us out of the corner of my eyes. I smiled at him and waved. "Hey, we we're just talking."
Chandler stared at me weirdly before looking at Y/N, nodding his head as if everything was fine.
"So you guys are getting along?" He smiled and sat down next to me in the grass.
Chandler nodded. "Yeah, but I have to go..." He looked back at the sidewalk. "I'm gonna hang out with Zoey" He didn't wait for a response before walking away. He glanced back at me and flipped me off, Y/N not noticing since he had his back turned to him. I smiled and waved at him. "Bye~"
I later found out while talking to Y/N that Zoey was one of the friends that they always hang out with. He didn't really go into detail, not that it mattered though.

We spent a bit more time together before Y/N had to leave. I gave him a tight hug and reminded him to call me tonight before he goes to bed. I let him go and smiled, waving as we both went our separate ways.
