SLOSH! A squirrel had just slipped into a massive, muddy puddle. Just peachy, another puddle, why did I turn down the opportunity to take climbing lessons. Asher was a very unfortunate squirrel, however it was not always like that, it started last year.
Last Year's Flashback:
Asher had been trying to get to an acorn up in the grand tree, however he didn't know how to climb so, what does a desperate squirrel do? He gets a chipmunk, Jay, to carry him all the way up. Everything was going according to the plan until they reached the acorn. The random chipmunk that he had picked, had just stranded him up in the tall tree without any way to get down. Welp at least I still have this scrumptious acorn, Hahaha! Jay had reappeared and snatched the acorn. I should have known better than to trust that chipmunk. Always acting adorable for humans however not to a squirrel! How completely and utterly fake! He stirred up all the courage within his small shaking body. Suppose I can only jump! However, the poor unlucky Asher had chosen a terrible time to jump. A orange haired girl was right below the tree. Her screams and yelps filled the air as he landed on her. The ear piercing shrieks scared Asher to the point that he passed out. He woke up the next day. What happened to me? Suddenly the events of yesterday crashed into him. Oh no...
"Hey look it's the squirrel from the newest trending ViewTube video!" one critter said. Viewtube? What? I don't even have an account or channel!
"He's the stupid squirrel that fell out of a tree! Aren't they supposed to be good at climbing?!" another said.
"You're hysterical! I was dying!" the next said.
The entire time anyplace he went he heard side comments. Slowly and slowly his patience was unraveled. Ugh! I've had about enough of this nonsense! What in the world are they talking about?!
"Hey aren't you the squir--" Asher was losing his patience.
"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT!" he screeched. One...two...three...four...five
"Oh I get it, you haven't seen it yet!" the field mouse, Trixie, said. Six ...seven ...eight ...nine ...ten!
"SEEN WHAT?" he asked. Asher had finally lost it. Boom!
"How about I just show you, just follow me!" Grudgingly Asher agreed.
The field mouse led him to Peck Tech. Peck Tech is a popular place where you can watch ViewTube, eat for free, and play games, Trixie pulled up a video. His heart was shattered as he watched the video in horror, someone had recorded and made a song about his little "accident". This was posted yesterday and it already has 24,0000 views, 0 dislikes, plus 23,9030 likes! Eww it's quite catchy as well. GREAT NOW I GOT IT STUCK IN MY HEAD! Ugh my reputation is ruined, not that I really had one to begin with.
End of Flashback:
For the past two hours, Asher had been scavenging for food when a human had caught him. He had barely escaped when a dog started to chase him. The dog had chased him for 12 hours without losing him. How is this dog not tired yet? It was now night time and he was lost in the dark, new environment. Miles and miles away from his burrow, he was cold, hungry, and homesick. Not that he was welcome there anymore, his family had booted him out when he was a little squirrel. He could not recall the reason but he had grown a bitter spot in his heart for his family. However, his family's home was better than mother nature's harsh habitat.
He walked farther and farther into the dark twisted forest getting even more lost than he was. What did I ever do to deserve this miserable life of misfortune? A single tear escaped his eyes followed by a sniffle. Soon he broke into full on sobs.
