A rockstar and a secret pregnancy

scan day

Two days had past since Colin had left. We had only spoke once or twice has he was suffering jet lag from the long flight and needed to rest until all the interviews and shows started. For me today was the day of my first scan both Doris and Lisa were coming with me for support. At first I thought Doris would angry and unable to talk to me due to the feelings she had for Colin but I was wrong. For the last two days Lisa was there to support me whilst I was working in my office at Carter Corp along said Matt and Doris was with me at mine and Colin's house at night supporting me. Whilst I wrote song lyrics she would write the music to go along side my words which was usually Colin's job but me and Doris had started to make a good team. We had decided we were going to look for a new guitarist and get all the band together this weekend for the first practice since Colin had left.
This morning I got out of bed to get ready for work and braced myself for the usual morning sickness but it didn't come. I got dressed in a black knee lengh pencil skirt and silk white blouse tied my hair up into a messy bun. I grabbed a toasted bagel and coffee on my walk into work. Has I entered Lisa was at her reception desk she pulled me to one side.

Lisa " how are you feeling this morning sweety and are we still meeting at lunch to go to your scan?"

Ellie "I'm ok no morning sickness today and yes but we need to pick up Doris on the way"

Lisa "ok I will see you at lunch and just to warn you Matt is already up stairs"

Ellie "ok really wanted to be focused on work by the time he arrived"

Lisa "you will be fine don't worry he still doesn't know a thing"

Ellie "your right I will see you at lunch"

Lisa "see you at lunch"

I took the elevator upto the forty-second floor realising just how much this place reminded me of Colin . This was my first day back at work since Colin left saturday and I was finding it harder than what I thought I would with every step I was finding more difficult to hold it together. Finally I arrived at mine and Matt's office but just before I managed to push open the door I heard a snigger behind me. I know that it was none other than our HR manager Cassidy I could swear her job was just to torment me at every turn. I really wasn't in the mood to deal with her today I had so much already on my plate. I turned around with a polite smile not carring if she could tell it was a forced smile or not.

Cassidy "oh look what the cat dragged in not looking to good this morning miss Harris" she said with a snigger.

Ellie " morning miss sparkle pleasure to see you like usual"
which I said with a little to much gritt. She was the type of women that put everyone around her down just to make herself feel better. Sometimes I wished I could throttle her without consequences

Cassidy "oh I'm sorry forgot your boyfriend just left you to find something better else where" she replied with a chuckle.

Ellie " actually he will be back in six months, I'm still living at his place and we talk everyday. But my personal life as nothing to do with you so go find yourself another victim because I am not in the mood today"
Cassidy looked at me with a stunned look before replying.

Cassidy "we will see how long that last just remember six months is a long time especially for a man to wait and for your information your personal life is my bussiness if it effects your work. Which by the way you are now five minutes late and you want to take a hour of at lunch time"
With that final statement she turned on her heels and left before I could get a word in. I pushed open the door to see Matt there staring at the door. The look on his face said everything he had heard the full conversation between me and cassidy. "Bitch" he mummled I burst out laughing at this sudden out burst.
