-Preface-
The rain pounded on the window glass, my head throbbing and blood dripping from my face. Why am I here? I thought desperately to myself. Why can’t I be at home, living a normal life? Just then the door burst open, revealing a bright light bursting through it. “Come with me, Alex, we have things to do.” The man said.
I nodded and stumbled to my feet, limping quickly to the door so I wouldn’t be punished. “Damn it, why the hell did you keep her alive?” One boy asked, he was standing next to the man that brought me out of the room.
“Shut the hell up Sean, nobody cares for what you have to say,” Another boy standing next to this ‘Sean’ character exclaimed, our feet padding against the cold stone, “He has his reasons for keeping her alive so just respect that.” Crossing his arms he glared at the other boy.
“That’s enough you two, I don’t want to hear your bickering, just keep quiet and follow me.” The man leading the way scolded as he brought us to what looked like a king’s throne room. “Alex, do you know why you’re here?” He asked me.
I shook my head, “N-No.” I coughed out of my throat and stared at him wearily. I was exhausted, loosing blood, and starving to death. Why can’t I just die right here and now, or maybe that’s what we’re doing...? Maybe he’s taking me to my death chamber.
He chuckled, “Well, then we’ll leave that a surprise for you… Devin, I want you to take Alex to her room. Sean, come with me to approach the king.” He instructed, I was taken roughly by the arm and led down a long damp hallway until we reached what reminded me of a chamber people in the medieval days would use to torture criminals.
The only thing is; I am no criminal. I don’t know why I’m here, all I know is that one day I was at the movies going to the bathroom, and the next thing I knew I was outside in a van, speeding down the road all tied up.
“Why am I here? I want to go home!” I cried desperately. I wanted nothing more than to be safe at home in my bed… My mind couldn’t help but wonder if anyone was looking for me, did they care that I was gone… Did my life matter to any of them? Or was I just another pawn in their games…
“Keep quiet, or you’ll get in even more trouble.” He said, his hands gently brushed the hair out of my eyes, “You’ve already pissed off the king with your constant shouts and pleas for help… Why must you leave so badly?” He asked. Like that was such a hard question.
“Because I don’t want to be here, I belong at my home, with my mother and baby brother…” I started to tear up just thinking about them, here I was, saying how much I missed them, and they probably weren’t even looking for me.
He chuckled and opened the door to the room, “Sit in there and be quiet. Someone will come fetch you later.” The darkness came back; I pulled my knees to my chest and cried silently. Someone come and save me…

“Alexandrea Bell Clarke, you have been summoned by Lord Chester the Great.” A voice boomed over my head, I opened my eyes and the world was spinning I was shaking my head and ready to puke.
“A-Alright, w-who is this man that wants to speak with me?” I asked curiously, I had no idea what was happening. All I knew was that this place is insane and I was taken, but everything happens for a reason, right?
“Just… Be respectful, don’t piss him off, okay?” He asked, his bright green eyes staring at me intently. I felt my heart beating faster, getting ready to skip a beat or two. What the hell heart? I shook my head and nodded, we made our way into the room and I paused when I saw the man sitting in the throne.
