-Chapter Three-

We ran outside in the pouring rain, dancing around in circles; my feet making a splash in every puddle I saw. I hadn’t been outside in the rain in forever. I just hope it doesn’t thunderstorm… That would be terrible.

“Can I ask you something, Alex?” Sean started uneasily as our pace slowed to walking. I nodded and he took in a deep breath. “Why don’t you try and escape? I mean, why haven’t you… You obviously hate it here, right?” He asked.

This was the question I was hoping to avoid. I sighed and looked at him in the eyes, my legs slowing to a stop. “I don’t leave because what would I do?” I asked, “My dad sold me… Your dad knows where I live and where I’d go if I did run away. So there’s no point, it would all end the same. Back here.” I sighed again, “And besides, I wouldn’t get to see you if I left.” I gave a weak half smile.

He smiled at me and grabbed my cheek lightly with his hand; he pulled my face into his and kissed it lightly, our lips moving together in perfect harmony. He shot me a smile as I blushed and we continued walking.

“So er… Sean… Do you know why my dad sold me to your dad? I mean, why me?” I asked. I stared at the ground like an idiot and waited for a response. “I honestly just want to know that…”

He sighed, “I can honestly say that I don’t know. My father usually brings in boys, to work the fields and stuff… I was surprised when he brought you and well, didn’t kill you.” He said, his voice filled with sorrow. “The last girl that was here was killed two weeks after arriving…”

            “Oh… wow…. I hope he doesn’t kill me…” I thought aloud.

Sean smiled, “Don’t worry. I won’t let him kill you, I don’t care that we’ve only been dating for two days, if he kills you, he’s going to have to get through me first.” He smiled at me like an over-protective big brother.

I blushed a million shades of red as the rain water streaked down my cheeks. “Sean, where exactly are we going?” I asked while we walked, though he seemed to know exactly where he was going at all time.

He smiled, “Just follow me.” He instructed. We walked for at least ten minutes in silence, his arm wrapped around my waist, and mine around his. Until we came upon a dark ally. I suspiciously followed him back, keeping an eye out for anything creepy.

“Um…” I said awkwardly, but we finally came to the end. We walked inside of a room and there was a huge indoor park there, it looked so real, reminding me of an actual park, but you know, inside.

He led me to the back of the park and we fell down, I was on my back, head resting on his lap. It was pretty comfy actually, just putting that out there. “Why’d you take us here?” I asked while giggling, “It’s so cool!” I breathed, looking around at the park’s beauty.

“I wanted to be able to enjoy the storm, from an outside location, where we wouldn’t get wet.” He smiled sweetly. This boy is so kind, I misjudged him a lot.

Hours passed by of just us sitting at the indoor park, occasionally kissing and then just talking. All in all it was a great trip out of the prison I’m being kept in. “Come on babe, let’s grab some coffee before we go back home and have to deal with Devin, Chester, and Colton.” He mumbled their names in disgust.
