The beginning of the universe started very spontaneously. First the Big Bang and then boom - Billions of galaxies just burst into existence. However, we are going to be talking about only 1 small solar system - the one we live in. So we have the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. But these are not the only things in our solar system. We also have the Moon.
As you can imagine, the Sun and the Moon are complete opposites. They never get along. Now, the Sun was very close with Mercury and Venus. The Moon was practically brothers with Mars. Now, the Sun and the Moon chase each other, day in day out - literally. However, over millions of years, their feeling changed and developed and grew into the only other emotion exactly like hate - love.
The Moon accepted his feeling very easily and started to pursue the Sun but to no avail, the Sun kept running and running and running. Mercury and Venus, being done with the Sun, trick the Sun and finally allowed the Sun and the Moon to meet. They were seen in the same sky but were so far away from each other, the distance only hurting both of them even more. The Sun left before the Moon could confess his feelings.
The planets also have competitions for the best planet or moon or star etc. in the solar system. As expected, the Moon won over everyone with his charms and dimples. However, the Sun got jealous after realising how many stars were after the Moon. The Sun, being sick of all the flirty stars, finally gathered up all his courage and confessed to the Moon. Of course, the Moon accepted and was over the moon. (Ba bum tss😜) When they finally connected as one (not sex u perverts), the universe was complete and there was beauty, serenity and peace existing throughout this moment. This is what we call a total solar eclipse. This moment is so profound and so beautiful that complete and utter silence will follow with the next cycle. However, there can only be the Sun and the Moon in different parts of the solar system, far away from each other or this would completely throw the universe out of balance. This is why, every 18 Earth months, they meet, not necessarily at the same place and time but they still meet and when they do, the universe is complete. - Meya
