It was later that day that Harry had gotten back to the Slytherin common room. It was warm in there despite being connected to the lake, the fires were blazing and there were students falling asleep on the sofas. When Harry walked in a few people looked up but respectfully avoided looking him in the eyes, he walked over to his seat, a big armchair with deep soft cussions and a high back and dropped off his bag.

The other three would be in in a few minutes, but he didn't think waiting or them would help in gathering the people. So, "Listen up," he yelled, "we need to have a house meeting, get everyone in here."

Then he sat down in his chair, there was a short pause before people rushed of to the dorm rooms and collected their friends. Harry heard the door open and Ron, Hermione and Draco walked in. "Hi guys, I already called the meeting." Harry said as they sat down in their seats surrounding his, he had now turned his to face into the middle of the room because who can be bothered to stand and speak when there was inevitably going to be arguing.

"Nice, what are you going to say to them?" Hermione asked.

"Just lay out the facts and get everyone on board." Harry answered.

"And if that doesn't work?" Ron inquired.

"Well....I don't know any ideas?" Harry asked looking at them.

They all looked between each other but couldn't come up with anything. The room was slowly filling up, people taking seats and standing where they could. When it looked like almost everybody had arrived Harry cleared his throat and stood up.

"I have called you all here to discuss an alliance between our house and Hufflepuff." Harry began, there was already a lot of whispering. "I know that this isn't exactly conventional but it would be beneficial to us. I am sure a lot of you have noticed a change in the way that Hufflepuffs are interacting with us, they are also extremely loyal so to get them on our side would be incredibly favourable. Their chosen house representative is Cedric Diggory, he came to me to propose this alliance. First we need to vote on a representative."

At that there was a roar of noise as many of the Slytherins in the room would love that power, to be able to lead their friends but with one scary look from Harry they all shut up pretty quickly. "Naturally I will participate, but feel free to oppose me." He said keeping a straight face and looking over crowd, selecting people at random and staring them down. "No one?" He asked, smirking internally, looked like they knew they couldn't win against him.

Then from the back ground a Slytherin shouted out. "I want you to represent us!" This actually took Harry a but by surprise, "You already are making alliances!" He smiled in heir general direction. Then they started to chant "The Dark Prince!" over and over, it echoed off the stone walls, Harry couldn't help his heart swelling with pride at them. They actually wanted him to lead them.

"If you insist." He said smiling warmly at them. "Now we need to take a vote, do we make an alliance?"

There was a short pause before whispering broke out. He saw someone put their hand up, so h pointed to the, she stood up and asked "What do you mean by an alliance?"

"Well, it would mean that they help us out when we need it and vice versa, so if say you were about to get caught doing something against the rules they would help cover for you. Also they would expect the same in return, and if I am correct there will start to be some serious tension between the houses in the next few years. We need allies and soon."

What do you mean tension?" She asked.

"Well, I can't tell you much but trust me the future looks bright, for us at least." He replied grinning. There was muttering they all seemed excited about something.
