Weeks had passed but Drav had finally made it back to Aedon. "Master, I'm back." She clicked happily.
"Drav, I've missed you, have you got anything to tell me?" He asked. Her, she had made her way over to him and was scuttling up his arm.
"Yes, I have lots to tell you, but first I brought you something." She began to wind up her webbing and Aedon could hear something being dragged up the wall outside. It was a fox, just big enough to fit through the bars.
Aedon was hungry enough that he would have eaten something much smaller. This was a treasure, Drav knew his feeding habits well as the poor creature was still alive but paralysed by her bite. Aedon moved closer to the animal and ran his hand through its fur, he didn't want to stress it out more than he had to. He looked over at Drav "Thank you, I'm so hungry." He turned back to his meal and his eyes flashed a brilliant blue as he learnt over it and slowly sucked its soul out through its mouth, once the soul was detached from the body the fox stopped struggling and lay there. It was big enough to be worth digesting, curiously souls tasted different, not dependent on species but what they did in life. This soul tasted, heavy, fatty it reminded him of a warm August evening. Once he had finished the soul he extended his fangs and lent over the fox's neck, taking a deep breath he sunk in his fangs, and the blood gushed into his mouth and down his throat. He was at no risk of getting a disease or anything, he wasn't able to get mortal illnesses. It tasted like heaven, it slid down his throat, coating it and alleviating the soreness. It tasted salty, sweet, metallic and earthy all in one. Exactly what it tasted like is impossible to pin down. He drained the body dry of blood before sitting back. Taking this as him being done Drav pulled the body back out the bars and dropped it. She then returned to her master.
She had long learned that his parents were two different types of creature, a Vampire and a Daemon so she now new to bring him his food whilst it was still breathing before the soul had fled the vessel.
"I have great news! The two wizards you sent me to investigate are extremely powerful and are planning to overthrow the ministry." Drav said as she walked up the wall and began spinning pictures of their faces.
"Do you think they would want an alliance with us?"
"Almost certainly." She answered as she continued to outline Harry's face in spun gold. Aedon was content to have his sweet spider close by so he sat back and let her spin.
"Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort." He muttered to himself, he would do everything he could to escape this retched place and meet up with them. They could save his people.
Just then he realised the voice down the hall had gone quiet, then out of the blue the man asked "Did you say "Harry Potter"?"
---🐍 back with the gang🐍---
They were sitting in class, Lockhart's to be exact. He had passed out a test on the books, the questions were things like "What is Gildroy Lockhart's favourite colour?" The thing was 54 questions long, the last one was asking what his ideal birthday present was. Harry looked over to Hermione for help, or at least acknowledgement that this was completely pointless. They spent most of the lesson on these questions, the Gryfindores had already given up and finally Lockhart collected them in.
He read through them at the front of the room and tutted "Some of you need to read 'Voyages with Vampires' again. I clearly state my favourite colour is Lilac."
Harry sat there looking forwards towards the blackboard in a bored stupor. "Well then, now to the lesson." Lockhart said as he put a cadge on his desk, it was rattling and was about to throw itself off the side at this rate.
