"It's funny how I see us together romantically but you don't."It was probably already past midnight but the two spent the night in Jinhwan's room, alone with alcohol and food. This was to celebrate the first anniversary of the older's successful tattoo shop; fairy ink.
"What are you saying?" Jinhwan laughed it off, cheeks red from the alcohol's influence yet he still drowned himself with another shot of soju, munching on a piece of grilled pork right after.
Junhoe simply watched the older, trying hard to focus his trembling eyesight to the beautiful man next to him. As much as he wanted to meet his eyes, he was actually thankful that Jinhwan was busy watching on Netflix. He couldn't meet his eyes that he falls in love with yet also hurts him, he didn't want the other to see his feelings.
Bottles of soju were knocked off on the table and so is Junhoe when it comes to Jinhwan.
Poor guy was in love with the tattoo artist but the other kept on shrugging it all off. He was being straightforward but he still kept a blind eye about it. Junhoe didn't know if it was the alcohol talking for him, but he's sure that it was all truth.
"Hyung... I... I like you." Junhoe muttered sadly, eyes dropped down to his shot, a bitter smile on his lips.
The older hummed, pouring himself another shot. "I know Junhoe, I love you too." He smiled widely at the other and ruffled his hair while kept his head in a headlock. "No! No, hyung you don't understand!" Junhoe whined, holding onto Jinhwan's arm, trying to pull his hand away gently.
He felt like something was trying to choke his heart, like something is stabbing his heart. Like someone is tearing his heart apart.
It hurts. And Junhoe already feels like crying all the pain away. It was clear that Jinhwan doesn't see him in that way, but his mind decided to continue on his confession and torture his heart even more.
Jinhwan slowly unwraps his arms around Junhoe's neck, a worried expression on his face and curiosity in his eyes as he looked into Junhoe's broken ones. "What's wrong?" The older asked sincerely, and it just brings more pain in the poor guy's already aching heart.
'I hate drunk Jinhwan', Junhoe thought to himself. 'He's too sweet and kind and it's keeping my hopes up.'
The atmosphere felt suffocating to Junhoe, he wanted to escape this moment and hide himself from Jinhwan. He felt sober despite the many bottles he drank.
His stare is scary.
It scares Junhoe for the fact that those clear, brown eyes were the cause of his happiness. It scares him for the fact that if he was standing right now, his knees couldn't have supported him. It scares him for he can't see himself in those beautiful eyes but another person is caged in.
But he pushed the fear aside. "I'm in love with you, hyung."
Jinhwan froze, wearing an expression Junhoe couldn't comprehend. "Are you serious? Junhoe, I'm sorry."
He sees it coming but why does he felt like tearing up?
The younger shakes his head, smiling yet not meeting the other's eyes. "Hyung, it's okay. You don't have to be sorry, I— it was stupid, please forget it." He laughed and wiped his face quite aggressively. "By the way," Junhoe tipped his head back and finished his shot and the remaining alcohol in his bottle before standing up. Not even tasting the bitterness for his heart is already bitter itself. He didn't quite catched the worried look on Jinhwan after he just drank soju like water. "It's late, I should go. Bye hyung, congrats again." Junhoe waved and walked out, ignoring the older's protest.
