I walked to my locker that morning feeling kinda gloomy. It was raining outside so Aurlie wouldn't let me ride her.
My mood instantly changed when I opened my locker. A single yellow, black-eyed susan lay on top of my books. A note on yellow paper sat next to it.

Sawyer's neat handwriting decorated the card. Little sunflowers were doodled around the edges. I couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, Sunshine." Sawyer's voice said next to me. I shut my locker.
"Thanks for the flower." They smiled widely, a blush coming to their cheeks.
"I thought you'd like it." I smile back and thread my fingers through theirs.
"Walk me to class?" I ask.
"Always baby." They kiss my forehead and begin walking.
I never thought my life would end up like this, but it has, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
