Alone

Chapter 2

I was going in and out of consciousness. One minute I hear silence and the next I hear sirens and people calling for help. I feel my body being lifted and after that everything went blank.

I wake up and see white walls and a white ceiling. I look to my side and see a friendly nurse and that is when I realise I was in a hospital.

As I sat upright the nurse who's name tag read Mary started to ask me questions.
"What is your name, dear?"
"Isabel Speranza."
"Where are your parents darling?"
"Both my parents are dead; I have a stepfather but please don't tell him where I am. He is trying to kill me."
"Dear, would you like to speak to a therapist or a social worker?"
"Alright thank you."

After the nurse left I went back to sleep. As soon as I close my eyes I see my mother's dead bloody body lying lifelessly on the cold marble floor. My eyes shot open as I hear my mother's voice beside me saying I love you.  I look around the room and there is no one there.
Great, now I am hallucinating. Could it get any worse?

Around 2 hours later the nurse came back with a tray of food.
"Eat up, you need it. A therapist will be here shortly." Mary softly said. I quickly finish my food before the therapist comes. Just when I was going to have my last sausage I hear a knock on the door.

A young women in her mid 20's peeked through the door.
"Can I come in?"
"Sure."
She took a seat beside me on the hospital bed.
"My name is Katherine but you can call me Kathy. I am your therapist. Do you want to talk about it?"
"Can we go somewhere else, the hospital is already really depressing which will make it worse."
"Okay let's go to Starbucks and we can talk there while having a cup of coffee. My treat."
"Alright."
