Oh, the mind of a child,
So strange and new and wild,
One day I'd be a rocket ship,
The next a train on a long trip,
For hours we'd play with laughs and cheer,
Until night time drew near,
You'd say goodbye with sleepy eyes,
And leave me for the long, long night,
I'd be lonely for a while,
But the next day I'd see your smile,
You grew, you changed and soon forgot,
Those pretend battles we had fought,
Until one day you came and looked at me,
With those same eyes filled with glee,
You said to me words a few,
"Friend I'll always remember you.",
Now I hold some old socks,
Because I am a humble box.
