Kyra opened her eyes dazedly, as if she woke up as normal. She looked around, expecting to be in a hospital room, but just seeing her messy bedroom, with clothes strewn across the floor, a few half-empty coffee cups, her phone, laptop, and a bunch of random cables. "Weird," she thought. "I thought I was dead." By now Kyra was extremely confused, and wondering if it was just a dream. Feeling immensely light headed, Kyra stumbled out of bed, and began to make her way down the stairs to the dining room, where she would usually find her parents, drinking their tea, reading the news, and complaining about how late Kyra got up. She yelled out to her mum, but when she got no reply, she quickly ran through the kitchen to the dining room. Kyra was shocked at the sight before her, her mother and father both holding each other and sobbing in each others arms.
"Mum? What's wrong? Daddy? Are you ok?" She asked them louder than she meant to. When they didn't respond, or even show a sign of hearing her, Kyra moved closer, and attempted to grab her parents arms, but she couldn't. Her hands just fell straight through. Then it dawned on her... She DID die... She was a ghost...
Kyra immediately felt a knot in the back of her throat, and as a massive wave of sadness engulfed her, she collapsed to her knees and let out a heart-wrenching sob. She was dead. She couldn't believe it. Why was she still here? Kyra had so many questions that needed to be answered, and as suddenly as the sadness came, it left, along with all else, she was so numb. She needed to go out. She decided to walk down to her best friends house, and see how she was coping.
After the short walk it took to get to Alexs' house Kyra decides to do some testing. First, she needed to know if she could go through walls, so she decided to run as fast as she could towards the brick wall that was the garage she knew all too well from all of her band practices. Kyra shut her eyes and ran faster, and when she didn't feel anything, she opened her eyes and realised that yes, she could. The next thing she needed to test was if she could fly, so she went back outside, and basically tried to jump as high as she could, then when she hovered a bit, she tried what she once saw in a movie, and tried to push herself upwards. IT WORKED!! Kyra smirked at that, "this could be fun." She thought.
