The Jester

The Chase

Sam and I Freeze, the Jester grins again, he slides his fingers on the the blade as if to test its sharpness, then he speaks. "It seems like you two kids have my doll" He says calmly, " give it to me and I'll try not to hurt you." 

  I shuddered, I gave an uncertain look at Sam, seeing he was shuddering too. "i've got a plan," i say, when I count to three, run out the  door and get the hell out of here!" "Good enough," he replies.

"one... two... THREE!"

  We bolt towards the exits and run out onto the street, the jester hot on our heels. The people on the road were shocked seeing a crazy Jester chasing two 12-year olds with a knife in each hand.  "Only a tenth of a mile to go to my house," I say to Sam under my breath "you can hide there until you feel safe, my parents went to Italy for 15 days, and left $500 for me to spend. "Sure, thanks" He replies, still panting. 

  The Jester's steps were slowing down, I could tell he was getting tired. I heard him swearing at us under his loud grunting noises. I see my house within 25 feet, I use my last bit of energy to open the gates close it before the Jester comes in. "We will meet again, John Cooper, "he shouts over and over again, until I can't hear it anymore.

  We make our way up to my room and examine the doll, it looks old, and creepy. I knew i couldn't tell what powers it had just by looking at it so I asked Sam what I should do since he's smarter than me at those kind of things.

  "I've watched this movie about a doll a few days ago," He says, "Its about a voodoo doll, if you punch it and say a name, the person with the name gets the effect of the punch. Maybe thats the doll's power."

  "Maybe," I reply. I say "Sam!" And punch the Doll with all my might. The doll stayed the same, but when I turned around, I see Sam rolling around holding his stomach. "Geez, you didn't have to punch so hard." He groans.

  "So this is the reason the Jester wants it so bad," I say with a Grin.
