I stand here today with my collars bowed
Hoping to reap benefits of the seeds
that I years back sowed.
Unsure if I will in any way be known
For my son stepping this milestone.
For all I did was to Ignite his mind
Such that it is unconfined.
To the meagre world and the rampant monotony.
With no insistence on being a prodigy.
To make sure he knows
It's okay to fall and flutter
but not to surrender
I set free this juvenile you see on stage
To be anywhere but within this cage,
Of rote and competition cut-throat.
To stride along the road not taken
Cause if all our decisions were predefined
Our hearts and minds would never be synchronised
