Bonnie was skipping in front of Ash and Serena, who were walking down the path to Anistar City when she heard a rustling in the bushes to her right. Curious, the young girl walked over and spread apart the bushes to see a Tyrunt lying injured on the ground. Anxious, she called out to Ash and Serena. "Guys, there's an injured Tyrunt!" Ash quickly ran over, pulling a potion out of his bag. He gently lifted the Tyrunt's head, resting it on his lap. Ash sprayed the dragon type with the Potion and watched as most of the scratches on its body faded away. The rather large Pokémon began to get up until Bonnie placed a hand on its head. She gently pushed the rock type down, saying, "You need to rest!" The wild Tyrunt listened to Bonnie and lay its head on the ground once more. Ash stood up and walked over to Serena.
"Do you think Tyrunt will be alright?" Serena nervously clasped her hands near her skirt, playing with her thumbs.
"Tyrunt will be perfectly fine. He should recover nicely, especially with nurse Bonnie to take care of him." Ash stuffed his hands in his pocket. "However, we should stop here for now."
Serena nodded, and together the two of them worked to set up two tents, one for Serena and Bonnie, the other for Ash, Lucario, and Frogadier. Once that was done, Ash collected firewood with his Pokémon as Serena started preparing lunch. Bonnie continued to take care of the Tyrunt, nurturing it back to health. When lunch was ready, Bonnie got her food and some food for Tyrunt, then ate by the large Pokémon. She rubbed its head as it ate, getting a low purr in response. After eating, she continued to take care of Tyrunt. Around three o'clock in the afternoon, Tyrunt looked much better with Bonnie's assistance. The dragon type slowly got to its feet with the help of Bonnie. It walked around a little, afraid of any pain from the movement. When there was none, it started running around with Bonnie and Dedenne. They played together for the whole afternoon until dinner. After eating, Dedenne slept in Bonnie's arms while the young girl leaned back against Tyrunt under the clear night sky as they drifted to sleep.
In the morning, Bonnie woke up to see Tyrunt still sleeping peacefully under her. She slowly stood up, trying to not wake up the rock type. She slowly moved away and walked over to Ash's tent. When she knocked on the tentpole, Ash spoke from behind her.
"Yes, Bonnie?" The young girl whirled around to see Frogadier and Lucario standing behind Ash, who had his arms crossed.
"Uh..." Bonnie completely forgot what she was going to say. Luckily, Ash had an idea what it was.
"Were you going to ask me about Tyrunt?"
"Yeah! Would you be willing to catch him for me?" Ash kneeled down to be at her height.
"The way I see it, you have a Pokémon and are already a trainer. I'm going to give you a Pokeball and you are going to be the one to catch him, alright?" Bonnie nodded her head. "Good, now here you go." Ash clipped a Pokeball off of his belt and gave it to Bonnie before walking to his tent to restock.
Bonnie hesitantly tiptoed over to the sleeping Tyrunt with the Pokeball before shaking the dragon type awake. "Tyrunt, wake up! I have a question for you. Come on!" Tyrunt slowly opened its eyes, staring at Bonnie.
"Runt?"
"Tyrunt, do you want to come with me?" Bonnie nervously sighed, then held out the Pokeball. Tyrunt seemed to hesitate for a moment, then bumped his head against the Pokeball in Bonnie's hand. He turned to red energy, captured by the red and white capsule. The Pokeball shook back and forth three times before dinging, indicating a successful capture. "Yeah!" Bonnie started dancing around as Serena stepped out of her tent with Fennekin, who padded over to Frogadier.
"Bonnie, what's with all the noise?" Serena rubbed her eyes before looking around. "Where's Tyrunt?"
Bonnie held up the Pokeball. "Ash let me catch him!" Serena turned on the retreating trainer.
"You what?" Ash winced at Serena's tone. Reluctantly turning around, he looked to see her glowering at him.
"What's the harm? She was playing with Tyrunt yesterday and took great care of it. Besides, she's already caught it, so why be mad?" Ash tried to placate Serena but said exactly the wrong thing.
"Why be mad? This isn't about Tyrunt anymore. This is about you going behind my back! Were you even planning on telling me?"
Ash instantly nodded, "I was waiting for you to get up, I wanted to let you get as much rest as you need."
Serena humphed and walked back into her tent. She came out a few minutes later dressed for the day and started making breakfast. Ash hurried over and said, "Why don't I take this, you can talk with Bonnie about how it went. You can also get to know Tyrunt a little better." Serena handed him the hand mixer and walked over by Bonnie with a smile. The young girl smiled at her as well.
"Nice job, Serena. You had him in a cold sweat." Bonnie grinned at her sisterly figure.
"Why, thank you, Bonnie. Congratulations on catching Tyrunt, that's pretty impressive." The two turned to see Ash hurriedly preparing breakfast and fell into a fit of giggles.
When Ash had finished breakfast, he apologized once more to Serena. She decided Ash had had enough torture and accepted his apology. They ate together as their Pokémon all ate as well. After finishing breakfast, they resumed their trek towards Anistar City.
