Writing is so hard.. I know some parts a little rough but it's been a while since I really sat down and wrote something.
But even if it's not a great oneshot, it's a short story that now exists! Pff that's more than it did before!
I really hope you enjoy it though! <33
___
White was all he could make out when he slowly opened his eyes again. It was so different from the darkness he had seen for so long.
His body felt numb.
Even if he wanted to move and to stand up, there was no way he was able to actually make one of his limbs move. Or let alone a finger twitch. All the skeleton could feel was the suffocating pain in his head. It was coming from ever side, as if giant needles where stabbed right through it. Even thinking felt difficult to him right now.
He decided that it's easier to just let his mind be silent and don't question anything. He could figure out what was going on later, when it didn't feel like as if something like moving his eyes was an impossible challenge. And as far as he was able to take in his surroundings, it felt like it was calm; maybe even save to simply just exist for the time being and don't care about anything.
Ink however didn't follow Errors eyes to see what the other was so focused on and instead continued to watch him closely. The artists' eyes were wide open as he realized what just happened.
He woke up.
Ink didn't know if he was hallucinating or not but if he was honest, he couldn't care less. Seeing the multicolored eyes again after all the time that had past, gave him the feeling as if the waiting and believing was worth it.
He could feel a tingly sensation as he moved one of his arms. It almost hurt as he straightened his fingers. It's been a while since the last time the artist had moved them. He always made sure that Error was lying comfortably and didn't need to have to sleep on the ground.
He lifted the freed arm and slowly traced the chin line from the monster that was lying in his lap. Tiny glitches appeared right where Ink was touching the bone and followed the movement from his fingers.
A smile was making its way up his face even if he didn't get a real response.
"Morning! You slept for quite a while, do you know that? Haha you worried quite a lot and some were even thinking that you wouldn't wake up at all anymore... but not me of course!"
Inks smile grew wider but it seemed a little more forced than before.
"And see I was right. I always knew that you would be okay. Of course you would be okay!"
It was followed by silence and shortly after a laugh.
"You know if I'm honest, I'm starting to think that you can't really hear me. But that's okay. Completely okay. We can wait a little longer. Oh and don't worry, I'll be here right by your side. Waiting for you, like I already did."
Again there was no response to show the artist that someone was listening. But Ink took it as if the other had agreed to him and wrapped his arm back around the absentminded one and pulled him closer.
Ink couldn't tear his eyes away of Error. He felt so proud of him and also himself.
But he wasn't stupid. He knew that Error was just barely there. His eyelights were really dim and the red was covered in error signs that were dis- and reappearing every second. The glitches that were covering his body were just as bad as they were before Error had opened his eyes. Not to say that he wasn't moving at all and responding to his surroundings and Ink.
