"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" I screamed into my pillow, muffling the sound just barely, but with the blaring music helping make it silent. I stood up and thrust the pillow to the opposite wall. It hit the corner of the dresser, landing under the window. I jump off my bed. "I can't go camping with a couple and my CRUSH!!" I scream. It dosn't even matter who hears me, no one's home but me. I'm 15, I haven't had my first kiss, I'm currently single and crushing on my best friend from childhood, whom of which seems to be flirting with Christina Erickson, some blonde girl that I think might be on cheerleading squad, but I'm not sure. I picture them holding hands and I shudder, not wanting to imagine it.
"STOP ME WHEN YOU'VE HAD ENOUGHH.." the lyrics boom through my room, seemingly vibrating the walls. I bob my head to the guitar solo screaming at me. "Nural you save my life sometimes." I feel a tear streaming down my left cheek, blurring mascara to make me look like a goth. I quickly wipe it off as I get up and flick the volume a tinge down. My desk hums a chime diverse to the CD playing. "And I am beautifullllll in every single wayyy" Christina Aguilera sings. I sniffle and look at the phone screen. It's Kendra. "Hey?" I speak. Kendra sounds worried and frazzled to the point of electrocution."I don't bring heels right? What about boots and tennis shoes? Should I bring my laptop too?" She distressed. I smile, despite my mood. "Just bring the important stuff" I pick up my cheap plastic slinky and started fingering it."And don't stress it. you'll be just fine." I hang up before she protests. I start packing myself, putting in t-shirts and shorts, bug spray, socks, etc. we've found a campground and are setting up camp near the large lake with a forest on the opposite side of the lake. when our parents agreed, I was shocked to say the least. I didn't think they'd say yes to a few teenagers to live in tents by themselves for a weekend. But, they said yes and I'm not questioning it. My phone sang once more, with a different tune this time. "Never gonna let you down, never gonna turnnn around. Never gonna sayyy goodbye, and dessert you." I grinned again," nice ringtone you picked." I answer. "Thanks. I thought it shows my dedication to our friendship." Ethan stated. I rolled my eyes before realizing he wouldn't see that. "I'd punch you right now if it wouldn't damage my phone." I laughed. He laughed too, and I felt a surge of confidence. maybe I'll be fine this weekend. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? "Hey Ethan, what do you think is he worst thing that could happen to us this weekend?" I ask. He pauses for a moment, "Us being eaten by a mountain lion." He answered firmly. "Well don't jinx it, I want Kendra to have a GOOD experience in camping!" Say.

A/N- hiiiii long time no read! I thought I'd send out at least one chapter of something before the new year, so here it is. I hope you enjoyed that little scene, and the next chapter will be longer. :D I don't usually put an author's note, but I felt it's only appropriate. Happy holidays! :)
