Chapter 2
*Willow’s POV*
I decided to walk to school alone the next day. I left a little earlier than Liam and told him to collect Alice, Louis and Luke on the way to school. I knew full-well that they’d never make it to school on time if it wasn’t for one of us picking them up every morning.
I had to arrive to school on my own, I had some business to take care of and I didn’t want anyone stopping me. I don’t care if Jake seemed like a nice guy, nobody gets to fuck up my best friend and come away unscathed. Nope, that’s not how it goes.
I have been appointed to role of mother in our group of friends, seeing as I’m the only one of us that seems to be responsible for anything. Liam’s alright at being responsible I guess but he’s still a boy and boys are all idiots.
And taking that last point into consideration, we all decided that it would be better for all of us if we didn’t appoint a father figure because a) I’m an independent seventeen year old who don’t need no man to help out and b) boys are all idiots. So, I’m left to look after all 13 of my ducklings by myself. And look after them I will.
So Jake better watch his back… or, most likely, his balls.
*Alice’s POV*
I walked through the school gates with Liam, Luke, Louis and Ashton who we met half way. Surprisingly, Willow didn’t walk with us like she usually did. Liam said she had to come in early to take care of something. I shrugged it off thinking nothing of it.
As we entered the courtyard, where we sat every day before school started, I saw Willow come out of the school with a bright smile on her face. She shut the door behind and fixed her tie before joining us at our table. She seemed extremely happy.
“You seem happy Willow.” I pointed out, chuckling slightly. She nodded but rubbed her knuckles on her right hand with her left palm. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, just have a bit of a sore hand.” She replied, still looking quite cheerful.
The first bell rang, meaning we had fifteen minutes until class started. We all decided we’d go to our lockers and get our books so we wouldn’t be late to class. We parted ways and Luke, Chelsea and I headed to our lockers together, seeing as we were all in the same first class.
I noticed someone sitting by the office, clutching their crotch with one hand and holding a huge wad of tissue against their nose. Whoever it was sure got a beating, a bad one at that. As we got closer I noticed it was Jake. As in the Jake I wanted buried alive.
“I had to. Nobody gets away with hurting my ducklings.” I heard from behind me. I immediately spun around and threw my arms around Willow. God, she’s a great Ma.
“Thanks, Willow. Honestly, that’s the best thing I’ve seen. Ever.” I smiled, standing back and letting her get to class.
“Really, Al, it was my pleasure.” She explained, executing a perfect curtsey before running off in the direction of the sewing room for Home Economics.
*Chelsea’s POV*
Luke, Alice and I were just about to light our Bunsen burner in the Biology lab when an announcement came on over the intercom. I prayed it would get me out of the class and I had a feeling that Ms George was praying it would get my friends and I out of this class too. We weren’t exactly the safest experiment executers. We tended to set things on fire on a regular basis.
“Can all students travelling on the Space Camp soccer trip please report to Ms Macinshon’s classroom immediately.”
Ms George released a breath before telling Luke, Alice and I that we could excuse ourselves before we blew up the building. We nodded, grabbing our bags and running out the door.
