"There is a reason for everything. There is an explanation behind everything,"
Thanks for telling me that, mom. It really helped to give me motivation to find the reason behind things when I was ten. So would you like to help me find the reason behind the grown man whom is wearing a tutu in my office?

"Adam, what are you doing?" I asked as I sat down at my desk and turned on my computer.
"Brendan told me that today was tutu day," He whined. I sighed.
"How many times have I told you not to trust Brendan?" I asked him. He counted off of his fingers.
"Seventeen times in the past two weeks," He said.
Ever wonder why I keep saying it?
"Can you please leave so that I can get some work done?" I asked. I had just finished a case and still had a bunch of work to do yet.
"Ethan needs you in the interrogation room. There is a little girl who witnessed the death of her parents and we can't get a word out of her," He said. I stood up from my desk.
Great.
"Okay, I'll go there now. Take off the tutu, it's difficult to take you seriously with that," I said. I left him in the room as he struggled with the puffy skirt.
"Ah, Detective Alice. Thank goodness you're here. I would like you to speak to that little girl in the interrogation room. You seem to be our last hope," Ethan said as I approached him. He didn't look up at me. He was too focused on the stack of papers piled among his desk. I nodded and carefully opened the door to the interrogation room.
Little kids are fragile. Why would they leave her alone in this big, cold room? The young girl in front of me had thin, long black hair with delicate bangs. She was wearing a white tank top with a black skirt and black flats.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Alice," I said as I sat in front of her. She looked up at me. "What's your name?" I asked her.
"Um... Ayala," She said softly, as if unsure of her own name.
"I love that name. Let's be friends," I said to her. She stared at me blankly.
"Did you eat today?" I asked her. She nodded. "What did you do today?" I asked.
"My parents died." She said bluntly. I let out a deep exhale.
"Yeah well, it be like that sometimes," I said under my breath. Ayala just stared at me. "Do you know what happened to your parents?" I asked her.
"They were killed," She said.
"Do you know who did that to them?" I asked. She leaned in closer.
"I'll tell you this, because you are my friend. It was Lucy," She whispered.
"Do you know Lucy?" I asked her.
"She's my aunt," She said as she leaned back in her chair. I nodded.
"Why would your aunt do that?" I asked her.
"I don't know. She just wanted to. Then she ran away," She said.
"Where did she go?"
"I don't know,"
"Do you miss your mom and dad?"
Ayala shrugged.
"They weren't my real mom and dad. They adopted me,"
"Ah, I understand," I said.
This poor girl is going to be sent to an orphanage.
"Do you have any close friends?" I asked her.
"Um... no," She said. I sighed.
Well now I'm here, I guess.
