the new job

You were desperate for a job, you gave resume upon resume but you never received a call back. As a last ditch effort to get a job you put up signs all around town and even an ad in the local newspaper. After many weeks of the waiting around you finally received a call from an unknown number, you eagerly picked up the phone to hear what seemed to be a older woman on the other end.

"Hello, Is this (y/n)?" Asked the woman "Yes that's me!" You exclaimed as you nervously played with your hands "Great! I saw your ad in the newspaper and was wondering if you'd be able to be a nanny for my grandson, he may be slightly older than you're used to but I'll pay you graciously for you time." You smiled widely "Sounds great when do I start?"

After writing down the address quickly on a notepad you had laying around you said goodbye as you hung up the call. You didn't have much experience with being a nanny aside from babysitting the neighbours kids off and on but nothing this official. Just thinking about it made you super excited, but also slightly nervous since the women said that he can be quite a handful and won't be the easiest kid to work with but that won't stop you from trying your best.

When the morning of your first day on the job came around you couldn't help but get super anxious since you didn't want to screw up your first day especially since this day could determine if you even get to keep the job or not. When you got out of bed you decided to
started a pot of coffee as you continued to pack some of your things in a duffle bag since the lady said you'd be staying in one of their guest rooms, which would be much easier instead of driving back and forth each and every night.

Once you made it to the house you slowly made your way out of your car and to front door of the house. You gently knocked and after a few seconds the door opened to reveal a woman that looked to be in her late 50's. "Ah! you must be (y/n)! I'm Constance Langdon, it's a pleasure to meet you" She smiled as she slowly extended her hand for a handshake. "It's great to meet you too!" You exclaimed as you smiled back and gave her a friendly handshake. She took a few steps back as to let you in the house allowing you to close the door behind

"Your room is just up the stairs, let me show you where it is." She led you up a flight of stairs and to a long hallway with multiple rooms on each side, as you both walked past one of the rooms you noticed a older looking boy on the edge of his bed reading a book. After you both made it to the guest bedroom she slowly opened the door for you "Once you are all unpacked let me now so I can introduce you to Michael." You nodded as she left the room.
