Bittersweet Memories (A Kingdom Hearts Fan-Fic)

***Anita POV***

I look around at the small shops surrounding the stone street that I stood on. Quickly I scan the streets looking for Kami who had wandered off, again. Kami was my best friend, well, I think. I only remembered a little, like my name, and Kami.

Finally I spot her silver hair and run over to her. "What were you doing?!" I shout angrily.

She just laughs and smiles then answers, "I was bored!" This makes me sigh and roll my eyes.

"Yeah, whatever. Come on, there's something that I want to check out," I say to her. Kami looks at me then shakes her head no and sits down on the ground.

Shaking her head she says, "I don't wanna!" Again I roll my eyes and sigh. I guess it'll be the hard way! I reach down and grab a hand full of her and pull her up. "OW!" She exclaims but I continue pulling her towards where I saw two figures.

Once we reach them I let go of her and shake my hand to get the silver strands off of it. "Sorry about that," I apologize.

"Apology NOT accepted!" Kami shouts at me while rubbing her now sore head and glaring daggers at me. She proceeds to plop herself down on the floor and glare.

I then turn to the other two people who now looked at us wierdly, "So, um, well..." I start off but stop. I really suck at being social...

Kami, being herself, immediately jumps up and smiles. The blond one looks at us confused then says, "Uh, hi?"

"Hi!" Kami exclaims, smiling hugely. I look between the red-head and the blond. "Do you know where we are??? We sort of just woke up here..." Kami says, looking around.

The guy with red hair looked at the blond then turned to us. "Come with us," he says, startling me. The blond nods and I look to Kami.

"But, why???" I question the duo. "Why would we go with two strangers whose names we don't even know to a place we don't know?"

"Because, we can help you, and, if you wanted to know our names, all you had to do was ask. The names Axel, A-X-E-L, got it memorized??? And this is Roxas," the red head states, jerking his thumb over to the blond when he said his name.

"Fine, where are we going?" I ask as they start to walk away, probably expecting us to follow them.

"The World that Never Was so you two can meet Xemnas," Axel says. Soon we reach an empty part of town and Axel stops along with Roxas, Kami, and I.

"Uh, now what??? How do we get to the World That Never Was???" I ask, looking at Axel. He laughs a little then holds his hand out in front of himself. Suddenly what looks like a portal sort of thing appears, making me curious. "Um???"

"Alright!!! Ladies first," Axel says, motioning for us to go before him and Roxas. I go in with Kami right behind me then Axel and Roxas a minute later.

The portal thingy leads us all to a grey room with a person wearing the same outfit as Roxas and Axel stands. "Where are we?" I ask, looking around the room.

"This is The World That Never Was where our organizations headquarters is," Roxas says. I make an 'o' shape with my mouth but I say nothing.

"Oh, so, what do we do now???" I ask, still looking around the room. When I say this the person who had been standing in the room when we arrived walks over to us.

"I give you your new names and announce your arrival to the others," the person says. By the way he spoke with authority in his voice I guessed that he was probably the leader of this 'organization'.

"Eep!!!" Kami exclaims, looking scared. She looks between the other person and me, still looking nervous.

"Okay, how do we get new names?" I ask. Then I turn to Kami and glare at her whispering, "Just be quiet!"
