Your shoes clacked loudly as you made your way through the palace halls in search of the two princes.

"Aw come on, you guys! It's not funny anymore!" You whined as you checked every nook and cranny possible. You'd been playing hide and go seek for about an hour now by Thor's suggestion though, you'd been searching for them for half of the hour. They knew the castle much better than you, true, but the rules were made clear. No magic, No hiding in your room--that one was more or less angled towards Loki--No leaving the castle and No leaving the main halls, but you've checked all of the main rooms--even the bathroom--with no such luck in finding them.

"Stupid Thor with his Stupid game! Stupid Loki and his hiding skills!" You huffed as your footsteps became heavy as you continued to ramble to yourself about those idiotic oafs. You didn't even notice your shining (e/c) eyes begin to water with angry tears that slowly streamed down your heating cheeks.

As you continued to storm away you began to realize how unfamiliar your surroundings had become. Sure all the walls and doors were the same shade of brilliant gold but they were all designed differently, all covered in patterns you've never seen in your few years. Doing what most kids did when they were lost and afraid, you cried. Hard. You cried to the point where you eyes became sore and your hair began to stick to your moistened cheeks; the truth hurts, but in all honesty you did not look very cute and the choked whines that emitted from your throat resembled that of a dying swine.

Minutes passed or maybe it was seconds--not that you were counting--before soft yet quick footsteps were heard, followed by loud yet equally quick ones. Loki and Thor.

"_____!" A concerned Loki called out to you, his steps getting louder has he proceeded towards you with an equally worried Thor.
"_____, are you alright?" Thor questioned a tad too loudly. Gathering up what was left of you dignity you attempted to speak but, all that came out was a shaky breath and what was close to a whimper.

"Maiden ______, are you you harmed?" Thor boomed as he came to a sliding stop next to you. Though you didn't dare look up, much too embarrassed with your appearance that reflected off of the tear cleaned floor. Those beautiful (h/c) locks that were once in a neat bun were now sprawled out in every other direction than intened, that sweet innocent smile faded into a scared and hurt frown and your lovely (color) dress was slightly wrinkled from wear you clenched it too tightly. At this point your cries had died down to soft hiccups and whimpers, no more tears.

A chilled hand rubbed gentle circles across the small of your back, effectively calming you down more. Obviously Loki, you weren't sure why but his skin was always cool even on the hottest of Asgardian days, which wasn't exactly a bad thing. You sniffled and wiped the remainder of your tears and straightened out your clothes.

"I got lost because I was upset that I couldn't find you." You barely whispered. Two strong arms jerked you away from Loki's calming touch and into a bone-crushing hug from Thor causing you to giggle lightly, your childish mood returning with every little thing the two did.

"This is all your fault, Thor. I told you we shouldn't have played this idiotic game." The mischievous God commented cattily, his emerald eyes narrowing sharply at the blonde that held you captive in his arms. Finally letting go go of you Thor shot back an equally nasty glare to him but said nothing.

"Let's play something else." You suggested shakily trying to avoid a fight and calm them both. It took you a few times but you managed to bring them out of they're glaring contest just as your father, the head of the guards, turned down the hall to check what all of the racket was. His eyes were immediately drawn to you and your disheveled appearance. His expression first read confusion then slight anger before diminishing into fatherly joy. As he approach he bowed his head slightly in respect to the future kings then speaking.

"My princes, it seems my daughter has managed to ruin her clothing in the few hours you've played. If it pleases you I'd like to take her back to her chambers so she may freshen up then I'll return her to the main hall." Though it was a statement it sounded so much like a question, that you all nodded in agreement. Your arms stretched out begging to be picked up and carried away, which is exactly what happened.

•Later•

The mischievous god waited impatiently in the window of the hall, glancing up ever so often to search for that (h/l)(h/c) haired girl to appear in front of him before returning to a book he found, despite his brother's many protest. If I were king ____ wouldn't get lost like that. We'd go down every hall, check all of the gardens and sneak into all of the rooms until we both had them memorized. The image of your broken state caused a shiver to run up his spine and those stunning eyes to land on Thor, disgust evident in them. Sif--who was currently playing 'warrior' with said blonde--seemed to notice and stopped playing.

"What's wrong with you?" sass clear in her tone to which he just rolled his eyes and flipped the off-white page of the book that was snatched from his hand with way too much force and speed for his liking. By now Thor, Hogun, Volstagg and even the self absorbed Fandral were watching him. He sighed and pushed a piece of his hair aside his face knowing they wouldn't go without an answer.

"If I were leading the game instead of that oaf," he pointed an accusing finger at Thor.
" _____ wouldn't have gotten lost in the first place and it definitely won't happen when I'm king," For a moment they all stared, blinking, their young minds processing what was said by the young prince.
" You can't be king! You don't know how to fight." Hissed an annoyed Sif, the others nodding in agreement behind her.
"Not all kings fight wars," Loki argued calmly. " Dumb kings cause war while smart kings prevent it." His tone was all-knowing as usually which just fed into the slowly growing tension of the room.

"Where'd you hear that?" Questioned Volstagg.
" It was in the book mother read to me last night." Commented the trickster.
"That isn't true."
"Yes, it is!"
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Is not!"
"Is not." Loki growled, tricking Volstagg into declaring "Is too!". It took a moment but when the red-head realized what he'd said he nearly pounced on the prince, only to be stopped by a unamused Hogan and Fandral.

" It doesn't matter if it's true or not. Thor will be king since he's older." Mumbled Fandral in hopes that it was silent enough for only Volstagg to hear, it wasn't. In all honestly the child was as quiet as an elephant. Before anymore spiteful comments could be thrown out, _____ entered the room, now in a dress of a greenish hue and her hair pushed back into a neat bun, no evidence that she ever cried.

You skipped into the room happily, ready to tell Loki of the new book father had gotten you but then you froze. The hatred throughout the room pretty vivid. A angry flustered Loki sat in the widow in front of an equally angry Sif with the rest of the gang standing defensively by her side. It was clear that Loki had started something. Before a single 'hello' could escape your tight lips Loki was up and dragging you from the others' presence.

Loki finished up the tale of what occurred while you were gone, a look of pure hatred plastered across his pale features. You were amazed that Sif even held the audacity to speak that way to Loki. Did she not understand who he was? Loki, prince of asgard? Son of The All-Father? Not even you had such courage to speak that way.

Loki's calm tone drew you away from your silent ranting. Frantically you tried to recall what he'd said, with no success.
" I apologize, I seemed to have been lost in my own world. Would you be so kind as to repeat that?" You requested with such a sweet look that tended to keep you out of trouble. With a soft clearing if his throat, Loki spoke once more.
"I said: when I'm king things will be different. We'd explore all of the realms inside and out. We'd learn more than those that dwell here. See things that not even the great Heimdell has seen in his many years and you," he paused las if considering the correct choice of words. "And you'll rule beside me as Asgard's queen."
For a moment you sat there, stunned by his words but a pleased smile soon broke out across your face.
"Promise?" You asked holding out your pinkie finger.
"Promise." He replied, holding out his own pinkie and hooking it around yours. A gesture that you two learned in a book about Midgardian customs, a special gesture only the two of you knew.

Yes it was a promise, but was it one the God of lies could keep?

(( UGH I TRIED! I know it sucks please don't be mad?! I feel like I rambled and used Loki's name far too often ): I'm sorry guys.))
