Crash 5

"We will discuss this more after training, Princess," Mitsuhide said as he looked her over. "There has to be a reasonable explanation, but I don't think we should ask your team at this moment."

"You don't?", she asked as she tried to study him.

"Not in this case." He said.

"Why not?", She asked tilting her head. He stopped thinking as he looked at her as she was trying to follow his thought process. "I find the direct approach to be the best most often."

"Only if you know all the variables, my dear. We do not at this time.", he stated trying to look anywhere but her eyes which he knew he could get lost in.

"Now you are starting to sound like a scientist Mitsuhide.", she said with a chuckle.

"The fact is what I do in ferreting out secrets and plots is a science sort of.", he replied knowing the answer probably didn't make sense to her.

"I think I can see that. On that, I would like to know more as well, but you are right we both need to get back. I won't say anything to anyone until we discuss it more later. I am guessing at your place?", she asked.

"I don't think you should go back to your place alone until we figure out what is going on.", He stated. She was nodding. "So basically I should look for a hotel room is what you are saying?"

"Hotel? What? No.", he said.

"Well, where am I supposed to stay then?", she asked.

"I thought I made that clear. At my place.", he said.

"I can't stay with you, Mitsuhide. Though I do appreciate the offer.", she said.

"Why not?", he asked.

"Because I don't know you for one.", she said laughing.

"What do you need to know then?", he asked.

"Really?", she asked now letting the frustration show.

"Sweetheart make a list of things you want to know. We will go over them later. I am serious. You will be staying with me.", he said over his shoulder as he started to walk away.

"Why are you being difficult Mitsuhide?", she said as she caught up to him and he looked down at her as he stopped abruptly.

"Because you are a stubborn female who I know can take care of yourself, do not puff up at me, but has two threats that may or may not be connected concerning you. That in itself is enough to make every male in the building want to try and protect you, sorry my dear that is somewhat instinctual. The other part is well you already feel comfortable with me on some level. I am willing to tell you everything you want to know. The other fact is if the threat from your team is real will you be able to act? Seriously think on that one for a bit as well. My team who is also on site will be, and they will accept whatever I say. If you go off on your own, you will be alone. Can you handle that?" he asked.

"You're right.", she said defeatedly.

"I know I am.", he said as he took a step forward. "I know you don't know me well or at all, but please trust me on this. You will walk away from it alive, and that is all I care about."

"Why?", she asked.

"I honestly Princess, have no idea.", He said with a smirk and began walking again leaving her staring after him until he made it into the room. She had to admire the figure he cut in the hallway, and she really didn't mind watching him leave either. She was more surprised by the thoughts of seeing that body later than she was about the idea her team could be a threat to her. It did make her feel better that he also saw it. She had read before she fell asleep the quick bios of the teams that were here for training. He was an intelligence officer. If he saw something, it was there, and she wasn't completely insane.  That made her feel slightly better as she walked to the meeting room for her colleagues.
