Carrietta White raced through the run down cemetery with Captain Black close on her heels.
"Don't let him get away, Lieutenant!" Black ordered,
"S.I.G" Carrie replied.
Ahead of them, the runway in a brown leather jacket leapt over the decaying brick wall with great agility. Carrie and Black followed them determined to capture the mysterious person.
"Black pulled out his Spectrum issued pistol,
"Halt, or I'll fire!" he shouted. But the figure didn't stop.
Reluctantly Black fired a shot which caught them in the shoulder.
With a cry they fell down, knocking their head against a withered tree.Slowly the agents made their approach, remaining cautious all the while.
The runaway seemed unconscious and was sprawled out on the muddy ground.
Carrie knelt beside him and checked his pulse while Black covered her with his pistol.
"He's definitely knocked out" Carried told him in slight concern.
Gently, she turned the person over.
As the moonlight caught his face, Black gasped.
"Orson!"
"You know this man, Captain?" Carrie asked in surprise,
"Yes he was like myself. A human held under Mysteron control"
"Well if he's still alive then perhaps the others are too. This isn't a good sign, Lieutenant" Black continued. As Black was talking, Orson came round and instantly panicked at the sight of unfamiliar faces.
"It's alright, Orson. We're not going to harm you, we want to help you"
The former agent responded by yelling out in panic and lashing out angrily.
"Get off me! Controller, help! They've got me! HELP!!"
Carrie joined in the struggling when Orson struck Black on the jaw, winding him.
"I'm sorry, Orson. I'm not trying to hurt you but you need to calm down, you're quite safe" she told him as she pinned his arms by his side.
Orson continued screaming, albeit incoherently.
Black hurriedly pulled a medical pack from his coloured vest and pulled a couple of sharp looking needles from within.
As Black moved them towards Orson's neck, the agent struggled more fiercely. With Carrie's help the Captain was able to insert them in.
Seconds later, Orson stopped struggling.Captain Black noticed Carrie's worried look.
"Do not worry, Fawn has used these before. They help stressed out patients relax"
"Are you sure you haven't killed him?" she stammered.
"Of course. Don't be so paranoid, Mint"
"What're we going to do with him?"
"We'll bring him to Headquarters in Coventry, they should be able to help get his mind right"
"His mind?"
"Yes, I'm afraid the poor man's deranged. It's often the case when you're under the Mysteron's control for so long"
Carrie suddenly became aware of something,
"Is that what happened to you, Captain?"
Black nodded sadly,
"For a while. I was so deranged that I believed that Colonel White was my father"
"I'm sure the Colonel was very confused by that" Carrie giggled despite the situation.
"He was very concerned, that I can tell you"Nearby, a crow cawed and Black lifted Orson into his arms and began to walk to where they'd left the SPV.
"Let's get Orson to the medics and then... well, how do you feel about some hot chocolate?"
Carrie's eyes lit up.
"That sounds wonderful Captain... oh and happy Halloween"
Turner smiled, it was the first time in a while that he was free and able to celebrate the holidays.
"And the same to you, Carrie"
Together they left the cemetery unaware that they were being watched by the many ghosts who were buried around them.
