As we drove down the road and out of the village, I hummed along to the song currently playing on the radio, Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. My mum had chosen the station when we had gotten in the car, and although the station usually played music from the 70s and 80s, today's playlists were actually pretty good.

I looked over to my mum in the drivers seat. I could see she was profoundly focused on the road ahead, however I was itching to know where our first stop would be.

"So, where are we going first?" I gently asked her.

She glanced over at me, before quickly returning her attention back to driving, "I was thinking B&Q to begin with. The only other shop that we need after that is ASDA, for some food shopping and necessities, but I thought we should do that last, otherwise the food will just be sat there in the boot. Is that okay?"

"Yeah, sounds good," I replied immediately with a smile.

Soon after, we pulled into B&Q car park, and I was beyond excited to get in there. I've literally been waiting for this day for so long, since before we even found the house. I knew exactly how I wanted my new room, and it had to be perfect.

My mum had a pretty good idea of what I wanted from what I'd told her, but obviously couldn't envision it like I could, which was partially one of the main reasons why I insisted on coming with her today.

As we shopped around inside, she continued to point different pieces of furniture out to me, yet none of them were fitting what I wanted. I never knew planning a room and finding the furniture could be so stressful. For some reason, I imagined I'd walk straight in here today and find the perfect pieces I'd pictured in my head just like that, but no, it wasn't that simple nor that easy.

It was edging onto almost an hour and a half that we'd been in here now, and my mum decided to give me 10 more minutes to look round the final section of the shop, before we'd call it quits for the day and leave. Yet, I didn't want to leave empty handed, I had to find my furniture today, I had too. I'd waited too long for this day to just leave with nothing. However, my time was going quickly, as I was trying to scour the last part as quickly as I could.

With only 5 minutes to spare, I decided it was best to ask for help off somebody who works there. The reason I didn't ask somebody earlier was mainly because I didn't think they would fully understand what I wanted, therefore I wanted to shop around my self, without having somebody down my ear directing me into different directions. Yet, now time was running out, so it was pretty much my last resort.

As I got onto the final section of the shop, I found a nice assistant, who looked rather friendly. I decided to approach her,

"Hi, I was wondering if you could help me?" As she turned around I saw her name badge, it read Abi. She had long brown hair and dark brown eyes, and was extremely tall. Yet, most people are tall to me because I'm so small. She, however, was very tall, and also very pretty.
"Yes, of course! What can I help you with?"
I turned round to look for my mum, but she was all the way down the aisle. I decided to just go ahead and tell her exactly what I was looking for. My mum should be fine with it anyway.

As I described my dream room to Abi, and what I was looking for, her face lit up. She told me it was exactly like her room. She then proceeded to guide me to where my ideal furniture was located. As we walked she gave me tons more ideas for my room, things I have never even considered. Her ideas were very imaginative and creative, and I tried my best to store all of them in my head then I could bring some of them to life once my room was on its final stages of completion.

As we reached the right section, Abi lead me down different isles, informing me on where abouts specific furniture was located. My mum was trailing behind us. Even though I couldn't see her, I could sense her smiling behind my back. I think she was not only impressed that I had the confidence to ask for help on my own, but also happy that I was coming out of my shell and talking to Abi, and not being so shy and introverted, like usual.

"So it's wardrobes to the right, real wood on this side and fake wood on this side," She stated, pointing to each side of the aisle. "Bedside tables and chest of drawers' to the left on the next aisle, and dressing tables to the right. And finally, beds are two aisles down after that. We do iron, metal, and plastic frames. If you need anything else just let me know!"

"Thank you so much!" I quickly said, before she disappeared.

As I browsed through the furniture she brought me to, I found certain pieces that I quite liked, but still not what I had quite imagined. I never thought furniture shopping would be this stressful! Especially when it's only for one room, and I knew what I wanted!

As I turned round, I saw my mum at the bottom if the aisle. My time was up and I decided it was only fair to her to just go, and come back another day. I began walking back down the aisle, my head slumped. As I neared the bottom, my mum neared me. She placed her arm round my shoulders and began guiding me to the end of the aisle.

"Don't worry sweetheart, we can come back again soon!" She started,

"I know mum. Thank you," I smiled up at her. She knew how badly I wanted this dream room, and I feel like she was just as gutted as I was that we didn't find anything.

As we reached the bottom, she took her arm from around me.

"I'm just going to get one more tin of paint for the living room. I'm scared we're gonna run out before it's finished,"

"Ok," I replied. "I'll meet u at the car? You can give me the keys now, I'll go wait in there,"

She nodded in acknowledgement and began reaching for her keys at the bottom of her bag. As she got them out, her purse accidentally came flying out with them and landed behind me. As I turned round to bend down and pick it up from the floor, something white caught sight in the corner of my eye. As I began to stand back up, I looked up at the white object. Except it wasn't only an object, it was a whole set of objects. A whole set if white furniture, bedroom furniture. This was it, it was perfect!

"THIS IS IT! MUM, THIS IS IT!" I raised my voice in excitement. As my mum looked up from the floor, to me, to it, her face beamed. I think she was more relieved than anything that we'd finally found what I wanted.

"Oh my gosh! Not a bad price neither!" She said, pleased. The whole set was white and included; an iron twisted bed, a little bedside table, a larger chest of drawers, a perfectly sized dressing table, and a large wardrobe. It also included a chair/stool to match my dressing table and a large candelabra, that looked cooler than it sounds. It was all exactly what I had pictured all along, I couldn't believe it.

We quickly grabbed the assistant walking by, this time it was some one called Dave. He informed us that in order to get it home, we would need to hire a van, as disassembling it may wreck certain parts, so they don't recommend doing that. We organised with him when we were free to have it all delivered to our house, and due to us booking the van with them, I got three free picture frames and some fairy lights to go with my room, just as a curtsy.

As soon as it was all booked, we got the tin of paint for the living room, and then left. After there, we went food shopping, and stocked up on all our favourite meals, for at least the next two weeks. We then proceeded to home, and that night, snuggled up watching TV and eating pizza and nibbles.

It had been a very exciting and successful day, but with that tiring. As I lay in bed that night, all if could think about was my new furniture, and how excited I was fir it to arrive in the next week! My dream room was finally happening, and I couldn't be happier.
