My Mom's car came to a stop, in front of a building that looked like a modern polished luxury. I widened my eyes, smiling brightly as I looked at me Mother.

Maybe this new life was not going to be as bad as I had expected..

Maybe it would be great, even.

I burst into the house, yelling things like 'woah' and 'amazing!' at my Mother. She gave me her warm but tired smile. I marvelled at the house, who wouldn't? Three storeys! En suites! It was perfect.

However, there was a creeping curiosity building up from within me, how did my Mother even afford all this? We had been living in a shabby run-down apartment all this time with my Father. Suddenly, after they're divorce she gets a whole new house? Strange, but I do not think it's something for me to worry about.

I ran around the house until I came across a pastel pink door. I smiled cheekily, opening the door to be greeted with a king sized bed that was also pastel pink but had white coloured raindrops around it.

"This is paradise!" I shouted, briefly twirling in a circle and landing on my bed.

I momentarily stared at the ceiling, my face beaming with happiness. Only three words could describe how I felt: over the moon.
I sat up again, yawning, I was probably exhausted from the long trip to my country house paradise.

Blue static seemed to fill my eyes when I stared at the doorway. My Mother then briskly walked pass the doorway. I called out her name before running after her.

She was gone.

In a panic, I ran down the stairs, only to see my Mother cooking our dinner. I sighed in relief, it was just a hallucination. Just a hallucination? Who has hallucinations? I dismissed the thought, maybe I was just tired from the long drive. There were a lot of thoughts dismissed that day.

"Mom? Where is my new school? Do we have any neighbours? How did you afford such a huge house?" I blurted out.

"Now, now, questions should come after dinner"

"But, Mom!"

"Hush, eat your pasta before it gets cold"

"Okay then, but , can we discuss about school tomorrow?"

"Okay okay, Ellie"
