Eve held out her pinky finger, balling her other fingers into a fold. She arched her pinky and grinned at me. I could have guessed what she would say next, naturally. Rolling my eyes and locking my pinky with hers before she could react.
"Yeah, I promise to keep this a secret"
Her fingers were long and dusty, as the rest of her body was. Though, what concerned me were her fingernails which were dyed in an unnatural blue-black colour. The tips of her nails were jagged, well, there were barely any tips. She gave me a bittersweet smile before walking towards the window and opening the dusty curtains. The full moon which shone brilliantly in the sky, dazzled me. Eve's eyes widened, as if she had not seen it before. With moonlight leaking into the room and patches of the light seemed to go everywhere.
Eve turned to me, her silhouette blocking the light from shining through. Damn humans for being opaque. Eve's eyes seemed to glow a bright yellow with her icey-blue eyes. Is the back of her eyes translucent or something? This was almost like the scene of a murderous anime which's title I cannot remember.
"Let's go out an' play!"
Eve grabbed my wrist, using her other hand to open the window. She used her hand to grab the border of the window and jump towards the night sky. Panicking, I tried to wriggle out of her grip, to no avail.
We landed on to the ground, looking at the dark forest. Eve simply smiled. This girls' courage was going to get us killed. Snakes, bears, poisonous or venomous insects. These were all things that were usually located in a typical forest. And of course, these were all things that could surely kill us. Call me paranoid if you like, at least I would not be the one who was found stone-dead.
"This is definitely not a good idea"
"We've got no time for ideas! We're gonna miss it!"
"Miss what?"
Eve looked annoyed at me. What? I had no idea where we were going and why. Eve rolled her eyes grabbing my wrist once more and running off. I felt my feet be sweep off the ground due to me not being able to catch up to her speed. Everything seemed to be a blur. Where were we? What time was it? The answers to that were unknown to me. All I knew was that it was dark, night. I wanted to go home. I felt the waterworks coming. Beads of tears coming down my face.
Eve suddenly stopped, panting for a while before expressively holding out her arms in front of her.
"We're here! Wait- why are you crying?"
At this point, I was collapsed on to my knees. My left hand whipping tears out of my eyes while at the same time smudging dirt from the ground onto my eyelids and cheeks. God, I had to break this habit of breaking down. It was showing that I was weak. Which I was. I found that there was nothing wrong with being weak, but there was something wrong with being pathetic. I waved my hand in front of her to indicate that I was okay. I stood up, my upper arm rubbing my eyes in an attempt to dry my eyes and shake off their redness.
I felt someone embracing me.
