Cliffhanger, I know. But here's the next part.As I was pulled through the glowing bookshelf, I thought to myself, is this how it ends? But of course it wasn't. Of course. The farther we went into the glowing bookshelf, the more the librarian's appearance changed. Her wrinkles smoothed, her hair became a luscious wave of silver, and, most startling of all, dove wings. I was in shock, so I didn't really acknowledged any of it.
"Wh-What?" I could barely breathe, much less talk. The newly-young librarian looked back at me and smiled. I was as confused as ever, and I wanted an explanation. But wasn't about to stutter out some half-eligible question.
When the glowing hallway finally ended, I stumbled and nearly tripped on the shoelaces of my pastel pink Doc Martins.
I had to catch my breath when I looked up, the sight was mesmerizing.
"Wh-where are we?" I could hardly breathe.
"You'll see soon enough, my rose bud," The librarian's voice was now as smooth and creamy as half-melted butter.
"At least tell me what this world is called!" I demanded.
"Lûmence" She answered absently.
" . . . And what's your name?" I thought I was pushing it too far, but apparently not.
She paused. " The closest thing in your language would be Nerinphe"
" I'm going to call you Neri" I decided. I took a good look around at the garden plaza we had landed in. I looked behind me, and there was a gateway made of roses slowly closing,(which I realized was what we entered through) but there was also a plaque that said 'Gaea Entrance'. Over a thin line of trees, I could see a purple dome-shaped roof that I assumed was a palace of some sort. Then it dawned on me.
" My parents are going to freak! I have to go back, now!" I was almost about to cry at this point.
" Time is fluid here, Rose Bud," Neri said this like she had to constantly remind people of that. I calmed down, but there was still a nagging worry at the back of my head.
" Why did you bring me here, anyways?" I inquired.
" You chose the book on Wicca, Rosey. My job is to bring initiates to the Rossose Academy, and teach them before the Wiccen can. We've been losing students and teachers alike for months." Neri explained. But I didn't hear anything past Rossose Academy.
" Wait... tell me more about Rossose Academy. " I was starting to rely on the knowledge of Neri, a little more than I would have liked.
" Rossose Academy is a prestigious school for the finest young witches, all of whom are being trained by the finest teachers in all of Lûmence." Neri told me. " let's start walking, shall we?"
I, in spite of myself, was increasingly getting excited. We walked up the path leading to the huge double doors.
"Leekoion!" Neri called to the open slot in the door.
" what was that?" I asked.
" Just the password." She answered.
Just then, the huge doors swung open, temporarily blinding me. When my eyes cleared, my jaw nearly fell on the floor.
notes/Another cliffhanger. Also this took awhile.
