"Jasper, what were you thinking? You could have really hurt Brooke, and many other people that represent this school in many forms. Brooke's wrist is sprained now, Jasper. She can't do most of her cheers because of you. What do you think of that?!" The principal, Mr. Lament, shouted at me.

"Really, I could care less about the outcome of that fight." I stated simply with my arms crossed, and legs folded over one another, as if it was as easy as 2+2.

"No, Jasper, that's not how this situation is going to work. I cant call you taking down a cheerleader and 5 of our best football players 'self-defense' anymore. I've helped you out and let things slide for too long, Jasper. This can NOT, I repeat, NOT, go ignored." He stated slamming his hand on his mahogany colored desk. I just sat there an stared at him blankly, he was't getting to me today.

He sighed and sat back down and cradled his head in his hands. "Jasper, Your one of the smartest girls in this school, but, I have no choice but to suspend you. Go get your things from your locker, and do not return until after Thanksgiving break." He said, His mask breaking.

I silently nodded and stood up, not saying a word, turned on my heel, and walked out the door. It wasn't like this hadn't happened before. You can still be smart and make dumb decisions, Right?

When I got to my locker, Alan was there, arms crossed over his chest, obviously ticked off. I put in my combination without saying a word and threw open my locker, getting my things.

We got all of the way to Alan's car without uttering a word to each other, until I broke the silence.

"Alan, if your mad at me, just say it. The silence is irritating. " I said as he opened the passenger side door for me and closed it when I got in.

In the few seconds of silence, I sighed. When I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding, Alan was already out of the parking lot, still not having said anything. Then, finally, he spoke:

"Jasper." He said sternly, eyes suddenly interested on the cracks in the road.

"Your the smartest girl in that school. But, how could you do something as stupid as to go after Stephanie and her gang?" He said flatly. I didn't reply, not wanting to start a conversation with him chastising me. Instead, I tried to change the topic of conversation.

"You do know there are still 2 periods left, right?" I asked him, putting my cheek on the palm of my hand, which was resting on the car door.

"Yes, but I have free 7th anyway, and the history of the revolutionary war? Please, I could do that in my sleep." He said.

It's true, the first time we met, and the first time I went over to his house (we were like siblings, so, when one is mad or disappointed at the other, it stings), all he talked about was the Great Wars of America. He was passing History with 'Flying colors' as the teachers would say. Behind me, he was the smartest kid in History, especially since we both have Honors in practically everything. He only needed honors for History, English, and a few other classes for ROTC. But me? I just have all honors out of my 'smarts'.

I chuckled at his response and started out the window as town flew by me in a flash, and, after what felt like hours, I zoned out of reality; eventually leaning off the window- my arm started to hurt- and leaned directly to the left of me, not caring that it was Alan's shoulder, and fell asleep.

END OF F O U R.

Hey Guys! I know this is a WAY shorter chapter than what I normally do..... but I got lazy. And, I did change my Username to 'Gingerbread'. It's an inside joke with me and my friends. But, all things aside, I felt the need to give mercy to you all with a better-written chapter than what I wrote for 5; 'cause, lets all be honest, It was sloppily written, and I couldn't stick with a story line.... anyways, Chapter 5 will be up soon!!!!

PS: This chapter is probably crap as well lol.....
