I sat down on the bench in the front yard. I opened my book and continued on the page I stopped.

Ed Sheeran was softly playing through my earphones and my lemonade was standing next to me.

The sun was setting but the weather was still nice so I decided to read my book outside.

I was almost finished with the page when I saw someone sitting down next to me from the corner of my eye.

I looked up to see Cameron looking at my book.

I took my earphones out and smiled to him.

'Hey Cam.'

He looked up to me and smiled.

'Hey (Y/N), What are you reading?' He asked me curious.

'Oh, just something I found in the library. Nothing big, I'm just interested in the typical cliché it's about.' I giggled knowing that it really was a book about the cliché: Popular guy goes out with the nerdy girl.

Cameron smiled. 'What's it about?'

'You know the usual, popular guy asks the nerdy girl out.'

'Aaah, yeah. How cliché. It's probably still funny to read.' He looked at me.

His flat hair was almost hanging infront of his eyes. He wore a boring T-shirt with some jeans and awfull shoes.

Yes, he was my best friend but sometimes, sometimes I wish that he had a better fashion taste. It's still a guy in the end so that's probably too much to ask for.

Cameron was funny, caring and easy going. Just like me.

We weren't popular at all at school but we weren't nerds, we were in the middle.

I wasn't someone who sticked to the trends but I knew how to dress nicely, like every other girl.

I was just an average looking girl, well that's what I thought at least. I had one or two dates last year but well the guys turned out to be not exactly my type. So here I am, still single, just like Cameron.

We are best friends for a long, long time. I don't really know when we exactly became friends since we both were young when we met. He lives in the same street, two houses away from me. We always walk to school together, unfortunately we don't have class together but we lunch together so that's nice.

'Yes, it is. So what's up?' I asked him while closing my book after folding a corner.

'I asked Emily out and she said yes, but only if I would change my look.' He sighed.

Emily, is a popular girl at our school. I'm surprised she even said yes to be honest. She always huffs when we walk by or sees us so I don't really know what's going on but well let Cam be happy with the date.

'But I don't know one damn thing about fashion.' He looked at me. 'But you do so..'

'So?' I asked him like I had no clue what he was going on about, I tried to look serious but giggled slightly.

'So will you help me change my look?' I smiled at him.

'Of course. When is your date?' I asked him excited.

'Friday evening.' He said with a small smile.

'That leaves us with almost a full day to give you a make-over. We can fix that!' I stood up and turned to him.

'Come on we have to find out what kind of style you like, Cam. We can't waste time.'

I walked into my house and Cam followed me.

'Can you grab some drinks and snacks? I will go look for some magazines.' Cameron nodded and walked to the kitchen, I walked upstairs and grabbed all the magazines I could find.

I walked downstairs when I was satisfied with the amount of magazines I was holding.

I walked down the stairs to see Cameron already sitting on the couch on his phone with two drinks and snacks on the table infront of him.

'I have some magazines and we need to go through them to find out what style you like.' I smiled and sat down next to him on the couch.

I handed him some magazines and he smiled.

'Let's do this. I thought about cutting my hair for a long time now but I don't know what kind of hairstyle I want. I mean we are already changing my look so why not cut my hair aswell.' He told me.

'That's a great idea, Cam but you love your hair like this, so are you sure?'

'Yes, nobody likes my hair this way. I'm the only one who likes it this way. Even you don't really like it, you always tell me to put gel in it.' He chuckled.

'Yes, I do that most of the time. It's just, you can do so much cool stuff with your hair and you just let it hang like that.' I pointed at his hair and then focused back on the magazines. I looked at a picture of a guy with a really cool hairstyle.

'What about this?' You showed him the picture and smiled. 'It's not too short on the top of your head, it's shorter at the sides tho.'

'That looks good! Now how about clothes?' He looked at the magazine in his hands. 'I really like this guys style.' He pointed at Zac Efron. Not to overdressed, just right. Casual and classy at once.

'Perfect!' You told him. 'Now we need to go down to the mall tomorrow to get you some new clothes and to get your hair done.'

He smiled to me. 'You are the best.' He pulled me into a hug, I let the magazine go and hugged him back.

'Haha.. Thanks Cam.' He let go of me and stood up.

'Okay, so I will pick you up at ten tomorrow morning, okay?'

I nodded and smiled. 'See you tomorrow, Cam.'

'See you tomorrow.' He waved before walking out the door, I waved back and turned back to the magazines.

Okay, step one was completed: Choosing.
