Museums don't amuse me. With all their meaningless paintings, huge statues with their blank and dull gaze. I find all the uncharacteristically long explanations underneath each item uninteresting. Those words, carved into slightly small signs made of expensive paper make my head hurt and not in the good kind of way.
But I would do anything for the people who helped me through my darkest days and nights of my life. I would do anything for my friends, even visit a boring museum, if that meant their happiness. I would deal with my headache later on.
"Jimin! Look at this!"
I turned around just in time to see the infant, huge and bright smile of Hoseok. The skin just below his eyes crinkled slightly in the most beautiful way possible. With a somewhat amused smile, I made my way towards his lanky body, the sound of my steps echoing throughout the hall.
An enormous statue made of marble stood before our bewildered eyes, and as my eyes lowered to the sign, I read the work's name out loud. "Pietá. It's Michelangelo's. It's beautiful," I admitted, my voice coming out in a faint whisper. Hoseok agreed, looking briefly at me before resting once again his almond eyes upon the work of art, admiring silently the techniques that the artist had used to create this huge statue out of nowhere.
This figure depicted the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary, after the Crucifixion. Something about the woman's gaze made me stare at her face a little longer, interested for the first time in something that was related to art.
However, my concentration was out of the window as soon as I felt a hand make contact with the nape of my neck, slapping the skin lightly. Hoseok burst out laughing, but soon covered his mouth the moment he realised that he wasn't allowed to make too much noise, since we were in a museum.
I turned around, not surprised to see a giggling Yoongi hopping far away from me, for fear he could get something worse than a slap from me. I couldn't help but chuckle faintly as I started following my friend, trying not to start running after him straight away.
"I'm sorry!" he exclaimed in a hushed whisper as I had trapped him in a corner of the room. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Jimin! I didn't mean to slap you, your neck just looked really good," he tried to apologize, but the giggle falling out of his almost sealed lips failed his act.
"I forgive you, Min Yoongi," I said with a serious tone. "Just this once,"
He wiggled away from my trap and moved towards Hoseok, who hugged him with the biggest smile on his face. This time, I let myself let go and grinned brightly at the sight, delighted to witness my friends' happiness first-hand. The two boys then continued goofing around, making weird faces at each other and trying their hardest not to laugh out loud.
I shook my head and put my hands in my pockets. Wearing a navy blue tuxedo blazer, I pulled lightly at the top of my raven button down shirt, exposing slightly my chest. It was really hot in here, I sighed.
I noticed Namjoon and Jungkook sitting all by themselves in one of the benches of the long hall, and decided to approach them. The older of the two was showing and explaining something that he had seen from the book in his hands and Junkook was attentively listening to each word that was getting out of Namjoon's mouth.
When I got near enough, I made myself noticeable, standing directly in front of them. The younger was the first to look up at me. "Jimin!" he exclaimed, his eyes going wide as he moved to the side to make more room for me. I took the hint and sat beside him, smiling at the older who greeted me with a nod of the head.
Jungkook was wearing a nude and black silk wheel print pyjama shirt, which had long sleeves and a chest pocket. Some of the buttons at the top were unfastened. Namjoon, instead, was sporting a runway peony print pyjama shirt, with a white ruffle shirt underneath. "What are you reading?" I asked curiously to the eldest.
