"Rubi! Oh wow, I've been looking for you" Corey said with a sly smirk. "Corey.. What," I replied in complete shock. I attempted to fix my hair. Even after the shower I still felt like shit. "You have not! You left me for dead nigga! I screamed to the top of my lungs. "You poisoned me and left me for dead. You left me!! You left me!!!" I cried. Heavy tears came down my face as I tried to run past him. He grabbed me and wouldn't let go. The punches I threw felt like pillows to him.I then rested my head in chest and just cried. I cried in his arms, as I finally knew his deepest secret. "I'm sorry Rubi, I'm sorry" Corey said as tears fell out of his eyes. "Come in the car, you can't be out here like this please let me help." He offered. Corey then helped me into the back seat of the car. The driver greeted me upon entering. Corey then came and sat next to me. I watched him take his phone from out his pocket to reply to a text message and then we drove off.
I decided to break the silence. "How did you know where to find me?" I asked. Corey cleared his throat. "I followed you after the hospital. I saw you go to your mother's but then I got a call so I had to leave. When I spinned back you was gone," he explained. "You went to my mother's house? Why would you do that!" I screamed. My mother hated Corey, and to see him in the state that she is in right now would definitely raise her pressure. "Rubi! Chill out! I didn't go inside." Corey confirmed. I then got comfortable in my seat. I began to think about all the stash I stole and once I find the perfect opportunity, I can get high again.
When we reached our destination, we pulled up to a condo that had greek lettering on the door. "Where are we?" I asked. "I conduct business here," he answered. I followed him out the car and went inside the house. Three security guards were stationed outside the door and on the inside. "Security is tight in here I see," I joked nervously. I knew Corey was a businessman and made a lot of money but he never shared his job title. All I know is Corey had connections all over the city. When we made our way upstairs it was a dressing room. There was about 10 girls dressed in lingerie, some were butt ass naked and one girl was in the corner sniffing coke. It appeared to be that I was in a fucking whorehouse.
"Why you brought me here?" I whispered to Corey while pulling his arm trying to not be overheard. "Calm down, your safe. Trust me," He said. We walked passed the dressing room into his office. "Have seat," he said as he took off his blazer and sat down. I heard a knock on the door and this girl just barged in. "Daddy! Hennessy is out of pocket! She's tucking money!" the young girl shouted. I noticed the purple hair dye in her hair. I was in disbelief. It was Paradise. "Paradise? What the fuck! I thought you were dead!" Corey came from behind the desk, and slapped paradise to the ground. "Don't you ever come in my office unannounced ho!" he yelled in full rage. Paradise got up with her hand on her cheek. "Now, get the fuck out my office!" he ordered. Corey brushed himself off then sat back in his chair. "Is this some type of sick joke? Real shit happened to me. Why you doing this to me?" My heart is broken in million pieces, and here I am wishing that he will pick up the pieces. "Life did this to the both us, Not me." he concluded.
He then opened his desk draw and threw out a bag of dope on the desk. "Give me the stash you stole, it's worthless. I got something better than that," he insisted. "What?" I replied dumbfounded. "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Give me the $1200 you took as well. I folded and handed over everything. I tried to not look at the other drugs he had in front of me but it was calling my name. "Look, if you withdrawal, you're going to go through hell. We need to make some money to get up out of here, so do what I say or you're going to have a rough time getting through this," he persuaded. "Corey! This is fucking crazy. I gotta go, I'm leaving." I replied getting out of my seat. As I made my way to the door I ran pass the dressing room and down the stairs to the front door. The security team stopped me in my tracks. "Excuse me, sorry I have to go," I pleaded. They ignored me as if I was invisible. In order to get out I have to get through them which felt impossible. "Hello! I'm not one of them! Y'all can't keep me here!" I cried and began to swing on the guards. Nobody cared. "Go back upstairs ho', only way you leave out of here is by appointment." the guard announced. I couldn't believe my ears. At this moment all I could think about was, I should have listened to my mother. "Let me out! Let me out!" I cried to the top of my lungs. Two guards suddenly grabbed me and dragged me into a empty room. "Stop fucking screaming," one of them ordered. I sat on the bed and stared at the wall. Corey walked inside the room. He looked high his damn self. This is not the man I met in the bodega. This is not the man I fell in love with. I don't know who this is. Corey turned into a monster overnight. "Rubi Listen, we gonna get outta here soon. Just get with the program and everything gon' be alright." he spoke while rubbing my back. Corey then kissed me on the forehead and then walked out the room. I looked around and noticed there windows had bars on them. There was no way for me to escape. I felt something on the bed next to me and when I looked down it was the drugs Corey attempted to give me in his office. I gave in, and began to prepare myself to get high. Paradise then walked in with a man. "I got a date girl, I need this room or you can watch if you want," she stated. "Do you even remember me?" I asked. Paradise ignored me and motioned for me to leave out the room. I shook my head and went to go find the nearest bathroom. When I walked into the bathroom there were multiple stalls. It appeared to be two other girls in the same stall chatting. "Girl, you would think Paradise a cat the way that bitch die and keep coming back," I overheard one of them say. "Yeah, she lucky but eventually she gon' get what she asking for," I heard the other girl say. I then heard sniffing which brought me back to the main reason I came to the bathroom. I got high and then left the bathroom. When I exited the bathroom one of the girls approached me and told me to return to Corey's office. We sat down and went over the rules of the house. I had to sign a written agreement that I wouldn't run away during a date. A date is when you meet up with the client to have sex for money. He made it clear that I also do not have any special privileges because I was his girl. We are "all" his girls.
He promised me that If I was a good girl and I followed the rules, we could run off together in the matter of months. He promised me this when we first met, but we never left. All I have left is hope.
