Armin's memories slowly regain themselves over the few days he stayed in the intensive care unit. They have found he is mainly well, but are afraid his scar will never heal. Yet, this is somehow alright. He remembers pain. It is a token of the event, which is to remind him of the past events if anything is to happen to his memory from brain damage, though he appeared to have none. Upon seeing his strong relationship with Eren, the doctors in charge of Armin's physical therapy decided to allow Eren to take over their jobs to give Armin some to time to go out and about.
Lazy little shits
Today, Armin gets to leave the I.c.u. and go back to his original room on the second floor. Fully conscious. That means walking, for the first time in seven years.
A proud Eren stood next to the hospital bed, looking down at his woozy blonde friend. They had given Armin plenty enough sleeping pills since he tends to get chatty and lonely when he's awake, and his intense insomnia was not helping. Though the medication made him tired and less alert, he still managed to smile up at Eren, eyes lightly sparkling.
"Hey, look. I made it."

They had come to the second floor soundly, Armin handling it surprisingly well. Sitting in a small wooden rocking chair, smiling, and looking out the window, Armin admired the rain covered concrete jungle before them. "Eren?" Eren had found himself sprawled across one of the various colorful bean bags that were placed on the floor, looking up at his friend. "We should go on a walk." Eren nodded and hummed an agreement. "I'm free tomorrow. As always." Armin lightly shook his head."No, I mean now. Central Park is walking distance from here, isn't it?" Eren raised an eyebrow.
"But Armin- as much as I'd like to go today- we can't. It's raining. Don't you hate bad weather?" Armin giggled and got up, sitting back down on the pink bean bag across from Eren. "Things have changed... It was a nice sunny day when the incident happened. Sunshine is quite the bad omen to me now. It's pleasant, but somewhat unsettling. New York is intimidating in general, really." Gently messing up Eren's hair with a hand, Armin glanced back outside. "It's not even raining anymore. Just wet and cloudy. " Smiling brightly, Eren sat up and placed his hand on his blonde friend's shoulder. "Let's do it. I'll do anything to make you happy."
Eren got up and offered a hand to Armin, who gladly accepted it. "I'm glad you're accepting help. That was a problem for me... You were there... When I broke my knee." He said, biting his lip. Armin might not remember and get upset. But no, Armin glanced to the side thoughtfully before looking up with a large smile and giggling lightly. "And you wouldn't let anyone help you!" Eren nodded and wrapped his arm around the smaller boy's waist, supporting him. "We were little then. I've learned my lesson. I had to go back to physical therapy while you were out of it too! I hated it." Armin tilted his head to settle it on Eren's upper forearm. "Well at least you're my physical therapist, so it'll be lots of fun!"
Eren honestly never entirely convinced himself a day like this would come, and even in that case without some sort of brain damage or something. Nonetheless, Armin is awake and with him once again. Just now, he smiles a little bit brighter, his eyes shining with a little more adventure. What a cutie.

Armin smiled up at Eren as he used his free arm to sign him out. Glancing over to the large, glass double doors that lead out to the big city, he almost shook with excitement. He didn't know how he was so eager to revisit the same streets and cars that merely killed him, but it was somewhat relieving. Eren slammed the pen down on the stack of papers on the desk before him, turning and leaning down to gently clasp Armin's shoulders. "You still remember all those books you read way back when?" There was a sort of knowing glint that shimmered in his emerald eyes. "Word for word." "Well then..."
"Let's go on an adventure!"
Eren lead the adorable little blondie out into the maze of sidewalks that lead them out to Central Park, careful not to knock him over. There were surprisingly few cars and merely one or two walkers with umbrellas, giving off almost peaceful vibes. Distant car horns and squeaky tires blared in the distance every now and then, but it didn't bother the two boys one bit. By the time they arrived at the park, the rain had slowed to soft sprinkle. "November 13th. Remember that. That's today, the day that you are back on the streets...- Anyway, tell me, what do you remember from being out?" Armin looked to the side and thought, admiring all the trees. He savored the gentle, calming sound it made when the small rain drops hit the browned leaves.
"It was a Stone Age-like world... All of us were there. I really did love everything about the place, though some peasants would pick on me. You and Mikasa would always come to save me though. Anyway, we would fantasize about the world outside these walls that protected us." Eren tilted his head. "That sounds pretty peaceful to me... Why were you so worked up when you woke?" Armin frowned and inched closer to the brunette. "Large creatures came and destroyed the walls. They killed our families and we were left to retreat to the inner area. We joined the military, fought our share of the creatures... One thing lead to another and I..." He glanced to the side, pink dusting his cheeks. "I fell in love with you. Next thing I knew it was either your life or nobody's. So... I shot myself." They stood in silence for a moment, looking up at the gray sky above them.
"You know what Eren? Since I'm not dead here..." He came closer to Eren with a hop in his step, his smile returning to It's regular brightness. He took Eren's hands in his, eyes shining with excitement.
"Let's be boyfriends!"
