As I am picking apart my plate, I glance up and Joel is staring at me from across the cafeteria. I feel self conscious because I am sitting at a table alone and I have my scars showing. He picks up on my uncomfortable appearance and starts to head my way.
I feel my pale cheeks blush as he sits down, "Hey cutie, why is no one sitting with you? Well, They're missing out, that's okay. I'll keep you company."
I giggle slightly at his words, "Hmm seems to me like you want to keep me company since you've been staring at me."
"Ohhh don't get too cocky now, sweetheart."
"You don't know me Joel, why do you have so much interest in me? I'm not special. I'm not cool to be around. I bring everyone down. Plus, you wouldn't want my gay disease would you?"
"In fact baby boy, I already have it. I haven't even known you for a whole twenty four hours and you are already special in my book." Joel says looking down at me with a twinkle in his eye.
"Tell me darling, why did you come here?", he whispers.
"Well, long story short, I have Bulimia and Depression, I don't understand why life is so important and why I need to be here. My friend found my secret social media and stash of fasting and eating disorder apps on my phone and called here to see if you guys would take me in."
"Well, I'm glad they did because now it's my turn to show you why you are so important."
