Prologue
We haven't seen light for ten years. We finally are free. We did it. After all this time. There was no time to admire the sun. Its golden rays of beauty. But, where to go? We were still running. Running from them. Guards everywhere. There was a place no one would go near. For it said to be riddled with monsters and creatures of nightmare fuel. But now we were one of the hunters of them.
We kept running and running and running until my eyes became heavy. I managed to take out the key that was controlling us. We were finally free. But we were out of breath, we knew we weren't safe. Monsters are very dangerous, but we had tricks of our own. We were different from monsters and humans. We were not either.
We found a bush and jumped into it. We hid in it.
"I think they're..." Then we blacked out.
Chapter 1: The House
Frina POV
I woke up felt bandages on my body. Some over the mental cracks. Some over actually damage from the Guards weapons. I heard my sisters voice in my head. Of course, I listened, not like I had a choice.
"Uh Frina were not on the ground. Unless the ground is warm and has a blanket over us I think we're somewhere else," said Halina. I was used to hearing her voice in my head. We had been stuck together ever since we were seven. And why we can talk to each other in our heads? That's because they had cut our brains in half and put them together again. So that kept us from going insane all those years.
"I don't feel the faceplate either. Whoever found us has it" I told her.
"Or you lost it while we were running away," she said to me.
"Maybe you lost it."
As I opened my eyes, I realized someone was next to me and my sister. Half of her face was completely made up of roses and her skin looked pale. Her hair was in a side braid and had some vines in it. She was a Rosette from the obvious roses on her arms and face.
"Hello? Where are we?" I said.
"Well, you're safe now. The boss found you knocked out in the wood. Luckily he found you before those guards did. You were pretty beat up back there darlings. We don't have much so this is the best we could do.", said the pale woman.
"Thank you. All we wanted to do was to get as far away from that border as possible."
"Believe me, we have had more than a few close encounters." She had a kind smile and a strange tattoo on her arm. She had a small scar all over her arms and legs.
Thank goodness they found us before the DIA did. I didn't wanna be suck in a lab for any longer than we had to.
"The names Glen. What are your names?", asked Glen.
"My name is Frina, and this is my sister Halina," I said to Glen. She was very kindhearted.
"Well, you're safe now that for sure. This is just an old house we took up as an HQ. Welcome to the Outcasts dearies. I should probably introduce you both too-" she was interrupted by a loud banging of pots and what seemed to be knives.
"Frina and Halina were it? Can you both hold on just one moment? " Glen asked.
"Of course. Take all the time you need." I told her. I had a feeling that something interesting was about to happen. Just as I finished my sentence she bolted out the door and I heard yelling and someone smashes right into a wall. I had a feeling that those noises were related to Glen and someone else.
"Hey darlings, there are some clean clothes over in the closet, Pick whatever makes you comfortable!" shouted Glen. There wasn't much but it was then nothing. I chose a plain black jacket, white tee shirt, some jeans and brown boots. Halina enjoyed the outfit. It was comfy too so its a win-win for the two of us. Though it only had two sleeves.
