I love being in a dark guild; Eisenwald was so much fun, all the freedom I wanted with zero guilt. Life was good, I got anything I wanted, even if I had to take it by force. Which was my default method to be quite honest, as years of living on the dangerous side of life have caused me to become near ruthless to all who have the misfortune of crossing my path.
That is until those assholes accused me of treason. It’s not my fault a random tattoo appeared on the right side of my chest on my 18th birthday. But apparently, it meant that I was untrustworthy to Erigor, who promptly decided to tornado my ass through the roof of our guild hall and into a nearby swamp yelling that I wasn’t allowed to come back.
Huffing, I angrily stood from the muddy water, stomping away. “I’ll make them regret the day they decided to mess with me,” I grumbled as I sloshed through the murky water that came up to my mid thigh.
They could've at least thrown some of my stuff out with me, all I have in my pocket is about 500 jewels (pretty sure this translates to about $5, but I could be wrong. For the sake of this fic I’m just going to go with it being about $5). Sighing dejectedly, I started to make my way to the next town over, hopefully, they would have some work for me to earn a little cash. It sucks that I basically have to start my entire life over, but at least I won’t have to answer to anyone.
“It’s all me from here on out!” I yelled into the empty forest, trying to pump myself up.
Reaching the edge of town just before dusk fell, I decided to camp for the night, then go into town to look for a way to earn some cash tomorrow. I awoke to a cawing and a stinging sensation on my cheek. I screamed as the crow pecked me again, causing me to yelp and sit up startled and flailing my arms about like a lunatic.
“Fucking bird brain shit!” I screeched.
Huffing a few breaths to calm myself down, I focused on trying not to let my temper take over. “This sucks,” I whined, as the crow perched itself on my shoulder. “What do you want?” I glared at the creature, who seemingly glared right back at me, “Touche.”
Standing, I decided now was as good a time as any to start heading into town. On the way there, I did all I could to jostle the animal on my shoulder, but the little sucker clung tight. Oh well, at least I have a companion now. Walking through the town, I received odd glances from the locals; guess it wasn’t every day they see someone going down the main street covered in mud with a crow perched on their shoulder.
I soon found that the town was named Magnolia, and I was, in fact, not welcomed enough to get even the smallest odd job for a little extra cash. Maybe it was the fact that my guild tattoo was on display for everyone to see? It is located on my bicep after all. Even after I was rejected from their crappy guild, I still get treated as if I’m one of them, which kinda sucks. I should really look into getting that thing removed.
Dejected, I decided to just wander the streets of the city a bit, it was better than just hanging out at my makeshift campsite. Walking through a bustling part of the city, I start to notice a familiar symbol. Like, really familiar, as in I know I've seen it somewhere. Then it suddenly clicks; looking down at the right side of my chest I see an identical symbol.
‘This guild was the reason my life is ruined! I'm going to make them pay.’
Kicking down the main door to the guild hall, I started yelling, “Fairy Tail! Y'all bitches got some explaining to do!”
Some short man groaned, “Ugh, not again. I just fixed that door.”
A white haired girl behind the counter ignored the commotion and smiled, “Welcome to Fairy Tail!”
“You’re just going to say that to anyone who breaks in? This chick is obviously looking for a fight,” a nearly naked man states, “And what's up with the weird bird?”
“Damn right I am! After all the suffering this guild made me go through. And that’s my friend you're talking about!” I yelled as my companion flew over to the man and landed a sharp peck on his cheek.
“Oh yeah sweet cheeks, and what did we do to cause all of that so-called suffering?” the dark haired male replies while pushing the bird away from his face.
“I got thrown out of my guild for THIS!” I yelled, throwing off my shirt and pointing to the left side of my chest.
He raises an eyebrow, “Uh, what?”
Looking down, I realize I was pointing to the wrong side. Switching hands, I yelled, “THIS,” one more time. For emphasis, you know.
Suddenly the short man from before walks up and takes a good look at the mark that ruined my life, “Don’t remember you ever joining. When exactly did this mark show up?”
Looking down at the man confused, I replied, “My eighteenth birthday, why?”
The man then turned to the half-naked guy, “And Gray, didn’t this marking appear on your arm when you turned 18?” The man pointed at the tattoo of my ex-guild.
Gray squints at the marking, showing me the same one on his arm, “Now that you mention it, yeah.”
“Well isn’t that just dandy?” the man says while walking off without further explanation, only pausing to look over his shoulder and say, “You can join if you want, girly.”
I just looked around flabberghasted. I had just burst into their guild, started shouting at everyone, stripped and nearly got into a fight, yet they’re willing to let me join? The only response I had for the old man was a resounding, “Hell yeah.”

*Timeskip*

So it wasn’t until a few months later that Gray and I figured out we were soulmates. I mean, come on, soulmates? That stuff only happens in fairytails and fanfiction…(hehehe). We were just chill friends until we noticed that any markings we had appeared on the other. Which is cool for secret messages, not so cool when someone draws on one of our faces at a sleepover (cough cough *Happy* cough). But other than us figuring out we were soulmates by the marks we share, nothing has changed much. Well… except one thing.
“(y/n), close the blinds, it’s too damn early for the sun,” my boyfriend said from beside me in bed.
“Sure thing honey,” I smiled as I opened them more and let sunlight illuminate his handsome face.
Gray growled before smirking, “I’ll get you for that later.”
“Sure,” I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
