Mikey's POV
I didn't know how to react when i found out Rye was leaving the band. I figured we'd always be together, best mates for life, but Ryan had to go all the way to Slough to be in this new band, to stay close to the other members. I got that, but what was i going to do without my best friend?
Snap out of it, Cobban, i shook my head, he's your friend not your boyfriend. I knew this was what was best for Rye, though i couldn't help being a little salty. See, i'd tried to get into this band too, along with Tommy, but Rye was the only one the manager took.
"Well, this is it," Rye sighed as he flung his bag onto his back, "i'll call you, yeah?"
"You'd better," i raised a brow, opening my arms for a hug.
He squeezed me tight, "of course i will. It's not gonna be the same without my Mikey..."
I smiled sadly, "i know it's not. You're coming home soon though?"
"About a month," he nodded, then there was a honk of a horn, "that's my ride."
"Love you, buddy," i gave him one last hug, and we almost squeezed the air of of each other.
"Love you too, bud," he smiled as we pulled away, "promise i'll call you, and if i don't, call me to tell me off okay?"
"Oh i will, don't worry," i chuckled, then i watched him go.
I know i shouldn't feel like this when it came to my best friend, but i couldn't help it. There was just something about him that made my stomach flutter and my heart skip a beat. The way he looked at me and the way his- no, Mikey, pull yourself together!
I waved Rye off and shut the front door. He was gone.
