Aria was almost done with her work for today. She was on the way to her home. It was well late in the night. Even more so than usual. She had to complete all the paperwork regarding the donations today itself and transfer them to headquarters. So she ended up doing that till late.
The streets she was walking through were silent as sleep. Street lights lighted up her path which was almost deserted except for a couple of policemen on patrol for which Aria was glad. It did make her feel safer, even though she was capable trainer who could handle herself, if any situation arises. She nodded towards both of them as they passed her.
Aria turned around a corner into a dimly lit street. It was desolated. I shouldn't be taking these shortcuts, this late. Aria thought. Turning around to take a different road instead would have almost doubled her time, so she continued walking down the same path. It was one of those uncanny neighborhoods of Lumiose City which people usually avoid..
Aria heard someone screaming. She stopped in her tracks upon hearing the sound. It was coming from ahead her. Due to poor lighting she couldn't see far. There was a sound of a motorcycle starting quickly. After a few seconds, the motorcycle became visible to her. It was being raced in her opposite direction. at high speed by a... policeman.
The man on the motorcycle looked frightened. As if he was getting away from something or someone. She noticed his face was bruised and dripping with sweat, which was worrying. By the looks on his face, one would assume he certainly had an encounter with the devil.
There was a sudden blurring moment behind the bike. Aria's head snapped in direction of the noise. But it was gone. Instead it was ahead of the motorcycle. There was a slash on the front tyre and it went off balance. Aria gasped as the person riding it was thrown on to the pavement.
To check if he wasn't hurt, Aria quickly ran towards him. He was lying on the ground on his face. She rolled him over on his back. She winced at his more than half bruised face. Dust was sticking on to his clothes and face due to all the sweat. But he was still conscious as he was groaning from pain.
"Are you alright?" Aria asked but mentally facepalmed soon after. Of course he isn't. I should get him to a hospital. "Hang on, I will get some help."
Aria stood up. She looked around for the two policemen she had seen just minutes before this happened.
"No!.." Aria looked at the person as he tried to get up. He looked afraid. He pointed towards something behind her. "Please... please help..he is going to kill me.."
Aria slowly turned back to look behind her. Hair on her neck stood up. She could feel the air was a lot colder than before. There was a humanoid pokemon with fangs protruding from his mouth. It had a blood red feathery crown on its head. He grinned deviously at her as he was honing his claws.
Aria looked around. There was no one she could call for help. She was alone. But she didn't understand why the Weavile was after this person. But there was no way she was going to let him get away with it. She will try her best to stop the rogue pokemon from hurting anyone. But he can't be alone! Where's his trainer?
Aria grabbed a pokeball from her belt and released her trusty Delphox. The fox pokemon wasn't exactly fresh for a battle but she understood this situation was different. She observed the lethal Weavile in front of her, who she assumed was her opponent.
"This doesn't concern you."
Aria squinted her eyes in the direction of the stony voice. She saw a person standing behind Weavile. He was wearing some dark clothes, which made him difficult to see in the dim light. He was wearing a mask which resembled the scary smile of a Banette. As if his Weavile wasn't intimidating enough. What am I getting myself into?
