"I'm so nervous." Maddie said to Tyler.
"Don't be bitch, my boss is really cool actually, we even text!" Tyler laughed holding up his phone.
Maddie smiled, "but what if he doesn't like me? What if he doesn't even end up hiring me?"
Tyler shook his head, "there's no way he wouldn't. This isn't a hard or competitive job. We do just review children's book to see if they're okay enough for parents to buy."

... "maybe he's right. This isn't that hard of a job, and it'll get me where I need for now I guess." Maddie said to herself. The pair kept walking down the hall before reaching Tyler's boss's door.

Maddie swallowed hard, "Is it too late to go back no-" she was interrupted to Tyler opening the door and exclaiming, "Hey boss man! I brought the newbie!"
It was silent for what felt like hours...
*click!*
"Hello Tyler, thank you for bringing her." The boss stood up and came around from his desk, upto the pair.
"I apologize for the wait, I had an important business call. But I'm Mr. Dafoe, and my close peers call me by my first name Willem." He stuck his hand in front of Maddie to shake.
She took his hand and shook it. "What a nice firm grip..." Maddie's face grew a rosey hue, as he let go of her hand.
"Here miss Darko," Mr. Dafoe began, pulling out a chair in front of his desk. "Come sit and we can begin your interview." Maddie took a deep breath, and began walking over to the seat.
"Tyler." Mr. Dafoe began, licking his lips. "You can go take your lun-"
"But it's only 10:15!" Tyler interrupted.
"Oh so it is." Mr. Dafoe stood up, tossing him a pair of car keys, "Why don't go you take my car to he car wash or something."
Tyler's face lit up, he hated his job. It payed well and he liked his boss so he'd take any excuse to get out of work and still get payed.
"You got it sir!" Tyler ran out, closing the door behind him.

Mr. Dafoe balled up his fist and placed his down on it, one hand on his desk, tapping his fingers, "So miss Darko," he began licking his lips. "What makes you think you're qualified to work in this company?"
"Well," Maddie said. "I'm a decently good writer, I have an extensive vocabulary and I think I'd be a good part of the team, I can also draw so I could help the photos for the books." She smiled.
Mr. Dafoe rose an eyebrow, rubbing his free hand through his chestnut brown hair, "Honestly, that's good enough." Maddie's blue green eyes lit up, "welcome to the team Miss Darko. Whenever Tyler returns I'll have him show you where your desk will be located, and how to set up our softwares, and I'll have him print you a list of our connections and authors."
Mr. Dafoe stood up walking in front of Maddie, who was still sitting down, extending a hand Mr. Dafoe winked "It'll be a pleasure to work with you, let's see what you got."
