Chapter 1

I walked into the office. "Hello, my name is Beatrice  Carver. I'm here to get my schedule." The secretary glances at me and resumes her call. I hear someone cough next to me. "Jennifer, I do believe this nice lady just asked for her schedule. You wouldn't want to keep the Carver Heiress waiting, would you? " Her head jerks to look behind me. "Right away, Mr. Grayson." I turn and smile my thanks. "The name is Richard Grayson but my friends call me Dick." I giggle. "Well that's unfortunate." He blushes and we hear a cough. "Here you are Miss Carver. Mr. Grayson can show you to your classes."
We walk out of the office and make our way to class. "Since your new here, I hope you don't mind me introducing you to my friends. " He says. "As long as you don't mind my cousin hanging with us too." He laughs and nods. We round the corner and I see Luca. "Luca!" I yell and run to him. I jump on him and give him a hug. The girl next to us glares at me. "Hey! Hands off my boyfriend!" I look at her. "He's my cousin and I'll hug him if I want to." I say sassingly. Luca laughs at us. "Artemis, this is my cousin, Beatrice. Bea, this is my girlfriend, Artemis." We look at each other and nod. As Dick walks up, Luca calls everyone together. "Guys, I want you to meet my cousin, Saphira. Saphy, this is Conner, Megan, Kaldur, Wally, Bart, Garfield,  Cassie, Barbara, Damian, Jason, Tim, Jaime, and you already know Dick and Artemis." He pointed t'o all his friends as he named them off. "Hi there, it's nice to meet all of you. " I say hopping off my cousin's back. "Do, jen la teamo?" (So, this is the team ?) Dick's eyes darken. "What did you say? "  I giggle. " I  was only talking to my cousin. Chill Dick."  Dick just nods, pacified for now. Wally comes up to me. "So, did it hurt when you fell from heaven, Angel?" I giggle. "No, cause I rode the elevator out of hell. Don't you see my horns and tail?" Artemis and Megan fall to the ground laughing, while some of the others snicker and Dick smiles at me. Wally just stares at me, mouth open. "You leave your mouth open and you'll catch flies." I walk over to Dick. "Can you walk me to class?" He nods, laughing. He waves at the others, while I bounce over to Luca and kiss his cheek. "Later'z, cuz. Love you." I go to leave then remember what I had to tell him." He Cuz, memoru la familian kunvenon hodiaŭ." ( Hey Cuz, remember the family meeting today.) He nods seriously. I walk back to a confused Dick. "I'll explain later. "

Time skip......

I stretched and left the class for lunch. As I was walking down the hall, some guys let out whistles and catcalls. Jason, who had been walking by, glares at them and pulls me down the rest of the hall. "Thanks, Jay," I say as we reach the cafeteria. He grumbles, nods, and continues to pull me to our table. Luca sees Jason like this and asks. " Who do I have to kill, Bea?" I laughed. " No one, cousin. They were just being teenagers." He nods, but his eyes stay their stormy color. Kaldur speaks up and says. " So, tell us about yourself, Saphira." I sigh. " There's really not that much to tell. I grew up in a large family. I'm the oldest of the kids. Luca, here, is the second oldest. I love music, archery, and the ocean. I've been trained to fight. Luca has as well. Our family is strict but fair." I look to Luca. "Ni devas iri nun. Ni maltrafos la kunvenon."( We have to go now. We are going to miss the meeting.) He nods. "Well, we're going to go, guys." The others looked at us weird. "It's only lunchtime. Why are you leaving?" Dick asks." Our dads texted me while I was in class." I say. He gives me a suspicious look, but he waved as we walked out. I glance over to Luca and say "Ŝajnas, ke ili tre suspektas min. Ĉu mi estas tiel stranga? " ( They seem to be very suspicious of me. Am I that weird?) He shakes his head. "Nah, they are just kinda weirded out at the different language." I sigh. "Sorry." He shakes his head. "Don't apologize, duckling." We walk into an alley, he grabs my hand and shadow travels us to my house.

Once inside I hit one of the light switches and a false floor slides away to reveal a staircase. We walk down the stairs into a hidden basement I had installed. " Now what, cuz?" " Now we build our team." I say with a wild grin.
