Chapter 16: Epilogue
Four months later...
"I'm proud of you, Trav," I smiled as I threw my arm around his neck lazily.
These were one of those rare moments where Travis smiled at me. "Thanks, Amanda."
I sighed happily and looked around the first floor of Tyler's house, which was filled with Erin, Travis' brother, Oliver, and the both of us.
We just got back from our graduation and of course, we brought Ollie with us.
"So since your birthday's soon, are you gonna move out and find a place?" I asked, and Travis scoffed.
"Hell yeah. The trailer's under my dad's name, and even though he's far gone, I don't want to be surrounded by his shit," he explained. "Ollie and I are moving more south."
A smile slowly grew on my lips. "Closer to me? I knew you wouldn't resist."
My dad ended up winning Travis' case against his dad, and managed to file a restraining order against him.
Through the whole process, Travis stayed strong for himself and his younger brother.
Travis let out a dry laugh before looking off to his brother. "I'm going closer for him. The school he's at is fucked. The public school that's here is perfect for him."
I smiled as I watched Travis stand straighter at the thought of protecting his younger brother, who was now playing a video game with Erin on the Xbox.
By Erin's scrunched up nose, I could tell she wasn't winning.
That, and Ollie shouting in victory helped prove that theory.
Suddenly, the door behind me opened, and I took my arm off of Travis just as I saw Tyler walking in with Bethany.
Bethany had dirty blonde hair that reached her shoulders and dark brown eyes, and although she was was too girly for my liking, she was okay in my book.
I smiled when I saw both of them. "Hey Beth."
When her eyes met mine, she waved excitedly before rushing to me to give me a hug.
Although I'm not a fan of hugs, I didn't mind them for her.
It was like her peppiness was rubbing off of me.
Ew.
"I'm so proud of you guys! And I told you that dress would look amazing on you," she cheered, taking a step back so she could eye the blush skater dress that I bought with her last week.
I blushed as my head hung low, but I felt Tyler's presence when he went to stand next to Bethany.
My eyes looked back up and met his intense mahogany eyes before feeling at shortness of breath.
When I looked between the both of them, I was still shocked that they were cousins. They looked close to nothing alike.
"If you'd excuse us," Tyler drawled out as he grabbed my hand before guiding us to the front of the house.
He quickly took the first door on the left, which showed his dad's office. Before I could ask what he wanted, he closed the door and pressed my back against it.
"Hey baby," he whispered against my lips as he trailed his hand up and down my waist.
I chuckled as he brushed his nose with mine playfully. "You saw me an hour ago, why are you acting like you've been gone forever?"
