I can't believe your mom said no to the Halloween party.", I said to my best friend, Jazzy, who was currently digging around in her locker for something.
"I know. I even suggested only having you and the squad over instead of inviting everyone else, but she still said no."
I watched as she pulled out a spiral and shoved it into her Monster High shoulder bag. I sighed heavily with great disappointment, and began twiddling my thumbs.
"So, what am I gonna do now?", I asked. " My mom won't let me celebrate Halloween anymore, and your party was the only excuse that would've allowed me to be able to dress up this year."
"Well..." ,she stood up and brushed the dust off of her gold jeans."The only thing we can do is accept the fact that there won't be a halloween party this year and then basically tell everyone who we promised to invite,that the party was canceled."
"But then they will think that we lied just to get attention. I don't need the whole school hating me because I 'lied' about a stupid party.", I complained.
Jazzy paused for a moment then turned to fix her light brown eyes upon me. "I have a feeling that when you say 'the whole school', you're mainly referring to Spa-"
"NO!",I said stopping her. Spade was indeed a sensitive subject for me (mostly because I've had a crush on him for the past year and half and I still haven't asked him out. But that's besides the point).
"We do not speak of him in public environments such as the main hallway on the the second floor."
"Girl, whatever! Let's go find Dessy and tell her that the party is off."
"Ugh. Fine.",I groaned and began to follow Jazzy to the 3rd floor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey Dessy I ha-"
"DESSY! IT'S TERRIBLE! JAZZY'S MOM SAID WE CAN'T HAVE THE PARTY!",I said running up to Dessy who was sitting by the staircase, most likely looking at the latest kpop music video. Her head quickly snapped up to look at my '5'11 ft figure, causing her blue and green dyed hair to fall messily over her glasses.
"What?",she said, using her fingers to sweep her colorful strands behind her left ear.
"My mom said that we can't have the Halloween party anymore.", Jazzy explained.
"What why?"
"She said she has to work that Friday night and doesn't trust the boys to keep their hands to themselves while she's gone.",I pouted.
"What if it was only us three?",Dezzy whined.
"I also asked her that but she still said no.", Jazzy replied
"That sucks. Isn't there somewhere else we can have the party at?"
We all fell silent. We hadn't really thought of actually moving the party.
"Well I can tell you now that my house is not available." ,I said, shaking my head.
"And I can't have at it at my house because I have no where to send my brothers and sisters.",said Dessy.
"OH! I KNOW WHERE WE CAN HAVE IT !"
Dessy and I both turned to Jazzy and waited to hear her suggestion.
"What did you have in mind?"
"Why don't we have it in that old abandoned hotel that's a few blocks down from the school.
"........................Are you kidding me!?",I yelled, causing people to stop what they were doing and stare at us. The uneasy silence that fell upon the hallway caused me to shrink down on a step next to Dessy to try and keep from being noticed.
"Are you crazy!",I whispered in a quiter tone.
"I think it's a good idea. ", Dessy said with a smile plastered across her face.
I snapped my head toward her and stared in disbelief. I couldn't believe they were actually considering this. We could get caught by the police and sent to jail and everything!
"It will give the party a more haunted feeling."
"Come on Jade! " That's the first time I've heard my name all morning.
"Come on, please? We'll only use the downstairs loby."
"And the party will only last for two hours."
"I don't know.....",I said trailing off.
"Come on. "
"We can even stop by there on Thursday and check the building first, y'know to see if it's in good condition."
"I don't know..."
"We'll even invite Spaaade!", Jazzy teased, wiggling her eyebrows. I looked over at Dessy only to find her doing the same.....
"UGHHH!!FINE!!",I groaned.
"But once we do this, there is no backing out. Deal?""Deal!"
