Some History

Ladies and Gentleman!

I would like to present to you... Swan Lake!

Now, please take in mind that this is my version and how I think it really happened.

This story takes place in Latvia and Hungary. King Charles Robert I of Hungary and Elizabeth of Poland, Queen of Hungary rule. Their children are the Princes Siegfried 23, Charles 22, Ladislaus 19, Louis 17, Andrew 16, and Stephen 11.

There are no accounts on Sigfried because he died at the age of 23 by drowning. His birth records were lost.

Henry the Second, Lord of Mecklenburg was also known as von Rothbart and The Lion. He used to partially rule Mecklenburg with his brother John the third until 1289 when John drowned. Then, Henry ruled by himself.

John the third was Odette's father and after faking his drowning at the age of 23, he fled into Latvia, starting a peasant's life there. He faked his death he would not be killed by his brother.

Nicholas the third and John the second, Lords of Mecklenburg were Henry's and John's uncles who had helped them rule while under aged. John took to caring for the younger John while Nicholas took care of Henry. Nicholas was considered a holy man but, in truth, he was a magician who taught Henry his trade.

Von Rothbart was Henry's dark name.

From 1283 to 1290, von Rothbart did everything in his power to be the only magician in Eastern Europe, killing both his uncles. He tried to kill his brother John, but he escaped by "drowning".

Since John was a Lord, Odette is therefore a Lady and of the Nobility.

Henry's first marriage was with Beatrix of Brandenburg and they had one daughter, Matilda Odile of Baravia. His wife died young, and he married two other times. His second wife, Anna of Saxe-Wittenberg, birthed him seven children. His last marriage gave him none.

And, to all you ballet freaks, I have been in the ballet industry for quite some time now, and I know my facts! So, don't freak. Just chill...
