Daniel:

The two detectives parked the car at a nearby kerb and made their way the where the inspector was standing. Inspector Wylan nodded at their arrival, Acknowledging their existence at the scene. "I'll fill you two in." He said as he walked toward the building that was cordoned off.
"Firstly, The victim, Mr. Kendrick Lamar was found in the toilet, dead from what seems like a slash to the neck by a pen knife and a hit to the head by a pipe. It appears he pulled out the knife and thus, died of bleeding out. We still don't understand what was with the pipe part but we hope you could help out."
"Sure thing." Said Dexter. "We'll examine the scene first. Then see what evidence your team found. Come on Daniel!"
Daniel observed the body. the body hung on the edge of the toilet seat with a penknife loose in his right hand. The blade pointed upwards in his palm.

Possibilities:
1.He killed himself
if he died there and then, the force of the moving blade would have sent the blade flying towards the right, assuming he cut himself the normal way.Even if he cut himself from the right to the left, his right arm should end up resting on his front or even if  his hand came to fall to his sides, the knife would also slip out.

2.Of course- staged
There's a higher chance here. He could have just slit his wrist if he wanted suicide. Why the neck? Also, if he Died from the slit, what about the pipe?

'Lets check out the other evidences and also the suspects before we do a information analysis or develop any theories.' Daniel thought.

Daniel met up with Dexter who had just came out of another room.
"What did ya find?" Dexter asked, pulling on his gloves. He handed a pair to Daniel and he too, slipped it on. "We'll head to the dining hall where the suspects are waiting. We wouldn't want ta' keep 'em waiting!" Dexter skipped on ahead but Daniel lagged behind, lost in thought. This case seemed a lot different then the others -- A carefully staged case.

Dexter pushed open the doors to the hall. Chandeliers hung gleaming along the ceilings, Reflecting rays off the cutlery that lay unused on the long, red clothed table. They all looked troubled about the situation. Inspector Wylan entered behind them. "You can start your individual interrogations whenever you're ready." Daniel scanned the suspects.
A maid, a man in his 30s, and a man in a mailman's uniform. They were sitting in a line of chairs facing the centre of the hall awaiting their interrogation. Lets start with the mail man. He casted frantic looks around the room. "I should be at home now..." He muttered.

Dexter pulled aside two chairs in front of the frantic mail man. His fingers grasped at his bag strap tightly, turning his knuckles white. His eyes darted over from Daniel to Dexter and over to Daniel again. 'The murderer wouldn't make in seem so obvious.' Daniel thought.
Dexter started with the first question.
"where were you when this happened?"
The mailman stuttered as he spoke. "I didn't do it..." He said. "I was delivering a letter when i heard a loud shout. The door was unlocked so i walked in to take a look. And... I saw Dead Mr. L-L-Lamar. I ran off at the sight of him and ran into a maid which is sitting here with us now."
A thought hit Daniel. "May we see the letter?" He asked. Dexter looked at Daniel."What for...?"

The mailman gave the letter to Daniel
and he opened it immediately. He read aloud the words written on the paper inside.

"Enjoy your birthday gift"

Dexter immediately pushed the chairs over to the next two suspects
